Meet Ciara Chesser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciara Chesser.

Ciara, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was little, I fell in love with getting my nails done. My parents allowed me to wear press-ons until I started high school, then I transitioned into wearing acrylic nail enhancements.

I believe getting your nails done is a form of expression and growing up, I expressed myself through my nail designs. I was able to choose several different colors and select as many rhinestones as I wanted. I’ve always loved the ability to switch up my look every week and not damage my nail beds. During high school and college, I enjoyed creating press-ons for family members and close friends. While in graduate school, my passion for nail health and press-on customization grew exponentially. This motivated me to start my nail business, Nail Treats, by Ciara, LLC. Now, I encourage my clients to send me what they envision for their custom sets that is a reflection of their personality.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, starting a business during a pandemic is not easy for any entrepreneur. The road has definitely been bumpy, but like any other new venture, it is always difficult in the beginning and is always worth it. There are some things that I am learning about myself and how to have a successful business in e-commerce industry. We are learning new ways to communicate better with our targeted audience, maintain customer retention, and effective marketing. I am always evolving and learning to better myself and the company. Ultimately, my goal has and always will be that every nail treat satisfies our customer’s “sweet tooth.”

My business, Nail Treats by Ciara, LLC, is a nail company that provides an alternative to traditional nail salon services. We are a black-owned business based out of Atlanta, GA, who specializes in custom press-on nail designs. We are known for providing custom nail measurements and “out of the box” design ideas for any occasion. I am proud of our entire staff for our growth in clientele, the quality of nails we provide, and how our skills have improved. One of the main things that set our company apart from other nail businesses is that we pride ourselves in accepting challenging nail designs and succeeding in the ability to replicate them.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about my city is the surplus amount of talent present. Atlanta is a true melting pot of several cultures, and our ability to come together and express our differences is a one-of-a-kind experience. Lastly, I appreciate how we can come together, work hard, and survive, no matter what we face as a city. The main dislike and I think every true ATL resident can agree with, is the traffic. Nothing more to say there.
