Meet Colby Elliott of Colby Cheese in Smyrna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colby Elliott.

Colby, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am originally from Saint Louis, MO. I’ve always had a deep love for fashion, specifically being drawn to eclectic looks. My parents always allowed me to be free in my fashion choices when I was a kid. My love for it grew so I decided to study fashion in college. After I graduated I took time off, then decided to get a job so I could save up and move to Atlanta. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with designers, fashion shows magazine any and every aspect of the business. Fashion has taken me to London, Paris New York so many great places. I am truly enjoying this ride.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road has not been smooth at all. Filled with many high highs and low lows. The biggest struggle I’ve had to face and learn how to cope with is hearing “no”. “No” was just not a word in my vocabulary until I got into the real world. But it was humbling, and something I needed to go through to continue to my next phase.

Colby Cheese – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Currently, I am a freelance fashion stylist and creative director. I work with brands, companies and individuals looking to spice up their looks.

I am most proud of my journey and how far I’ve come. I’ve accomplished a lot in my short time from book covers, music videos, celebrity styling the list goes on. I am proud that I never gave up and never let “no” become the final answer.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success, or my feeling successful will come when I finally take the leap and bet on my talents 100%. When I no longer allow the crutch of a 9-5 to keep me afloat. I want my gifts to provide my means to survive and also pleasures. Once I am able to accomplish that, I’ve reached the highest level of success.
