Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyion Riggins.
Cyion, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Cyion but you can call me Cy, and I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia, born and raised. My journey into photography began unexpectedly in 2016 when I purchased my first professional camera as a birthday gift to myself. Shortly afterward, I captured photos of a friend’s child being born, and before long, people began reaching out to book photo shoots.
At the time, I had very little knowledge of photography, but I was fascinated by the way creativity and visual storytelling could connect with people. That curiosity inspired me to fully immerse myself in learning the art, the technical aspects of photography, and how to master my craft.
Over the years, I have grown tremendously through dedication, persistence, and continuous learning. The journey was filled with challenges and failures, but those experiences became the foundation for my success and professional development. Today, I take pride in the knowledge, skill set, and creative vision I have built through hard work and consistency.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that success comes from never giving up and always remaining willing to learn, adapt, and grow. That mindset has allowed me to evolve into the professional photographer I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. The journey toward understanding and growth is rarely smooth. There will always be challenges, setbacks, and obstacles along the way, but the key is learning how to adapt, overcome, and continue moving forward. When you do that, you often find yourself progressing further than you initially expected.
For me, learning the technical side of photography was not particularly difficult because I naturally gravitate toward technical concepts. However, the most important aspect of photography, in my opinion, is the ability to genuinely connect with people and clients. That can sometimes be intimidating, especially when working with individuals you may not immediately relate to or feel naturally aligned with.
One of my biggest challenges has been directing and posing clients in a way that feels authentic and natural. Over time, though, I realized that studying the work of experienced photographers and observing different posing techniques can greatly improve your understanding. The more you practice and apply what you learn, the more comfortable and confident you become.
The most important thing is consistency. Don’t become overly focused on whether your progress seems good or bad in the moment. Focus on continuing to improve, because progress itself is what ultimately leads to growth and success.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Ey3 Media was created from the concept of the “third eye” — the idea of seeing beyond what is visible on the surface. That perspective is at the core of my creative approach and the foundation of my work as a photographer.
Currently, I specialize in a wide range of portrait photography, including family sessions, prom and graduation portraits, editorials, headshots, and more. As my brand continues to grow, I am expanding my focus into corporate and business opportunities, including corporate events, food photography, and product photography.
What sets me apart is my individuality and creative vision. Every day, I continue learning more about my artistic style and how I interpret the world through photography. Like many creatives, I draw inspiration from other artists and photographers, but I believe true creativity comes from taking inspiration and transforming it into something authentic and uniquely your own.
As I continue to grow within the industry, I take great pride in the quality of work I produce and the direction my brand is headed. One thing I want people to understand about Ey3 Media is that I approach my business differently. Although I am still in the early stages of building my brand, I prioritize collaboration, professionalism, and creating a positive experience for every client.
I understand that budget matters, especially in today’s economy, and I believe professional photography should be accessible without sacrificing quality. My goal is to provide clean, creative, and professional work at fair and reasonable rates so that both my clients and I walk away satisfied with the experience and the final product.
At Ey3 Media, the focus is simple: delivering quality visuals, genuine creativity, and a professional experience without making clients feel overwhelmed by cost. If that aligns with what you’re looking for, I would love the opportunity to work with you.
What matters most to you?
Family is the most important thing to me next to life. I always say as long as I’m alive. I have another chance to get it right and every day above ground is a blessing and when it comes to family, their love and support is what carries you. I don’t know where I would be without the support of my family.
