Meet Danté Price, Pricetag$ in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danté Price.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Danté. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So my story of how I started. I started taking photos and being a creative in late 2015 just as a hobby a teacher wanted me to see if I was interested. I use to just go out every Saturday and use my mentor at the times camera, taking pictures of anything I could see. A few months later for my birthday, my uncle purchased myself a new camera, couldn’t believe it. Finishing out the last year of HighSchool, I ended up communicating and working with the photographer for all school-sanctioned events. That turned in to me being the yearbook photographer and also the school newspaper. While this was also going on, I did $1 photo Friday because I wanted it to be affordable for every student. Didn’t care about the money I was essentially getting paid to practice. Then going through the years just being around in the city, I’ve made some great connections with multiple different people that I am still grateful today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road. Some of the struggles you face just going throughout are people just not believing in you, or what you do won’t be able to make you a real living. Also people under minding your work not willing to pay your price and low ball you just because they think they know you.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My company is mainly just a Photo/Video company. I’ve ventured out onto other think such as website designed but haven’t added as a full-time service at the moment. What sets me apart from others I feel like is my eye of what I can take out of every spot. You may not see it but while I’m taking the photos, I’m already imaging the finished images, also feel like my photos vibrancy is way different than others.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was in my opinion very quiet, my mother said “you don’t understand how is raising a very serious kid, at the age of 7 you try to make some joke but your kid wants to talk about social issues” IDK maybe I’ve always been like that because I’m an only child and you are mainly with yourself so I was just always a thinker.

My only interest as a kid for a career was being a Property Manager/Real Estate Agent. I also played 2 instruments (Clarinet/Saxophones), was in honor choir for five years. I love basketball and baseball.
