Meet Decatur Photographer, Videographer, & Video Editor: Mike Koenig

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Koenig.

Mike, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In high school, I started experimenting with photography and began filming bands in clubs. Eventually, I started shooting professionally – freelancing and doing part-time gigs for publications in print and online. Today I work at a PR boutique as an in-house video editor/videographer and I still freelance my photography wares as well.

Has it been a smooth road?
The “road” is always winding, with its many ups/downs, forks and some roundabouts thrown in for good measure. It’s not easy pursuing a full-time creative profession, particularly when technology has catered to prospective clients who sometimes assume your skills/worth aren’t necessarily what they may have been before the age of iPhones. But if you’re truly passionate about your art you’ll stick with it, welcome the challenges and hopefully, good things will come to fruition in time.
