Meet Deja Cromartie of Deluxe Media Agency in Atlantic Station

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deja Cromartie.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Deja. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got my start in the PR industry as a student at Clark Atlanta University. I was a communications major and I knew that I loved writing, building relationships, and events. So while in college, I took every opportunity to hone my skills in that space such as participating in campus organizations and interning at a few PR agencies in Atlanta.

It wasn’t until the summer before I graduated college that I considered entrepreneur as a vehicle to do PR. My mother referred me to my first client, who was an author. I’m now going into year 6 of running my PR agency!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No! Entrepreneurship is not a linear process, but I’m in a space where things are starting to blossom in my business. I’ve gone through all stages from being excited about my business to wanting to walk away from my business completely.

I am the founder of Deluxe Media Agency, a public relations, marketing, and events firm. My company helps bring brands’ story to life by providing them with a platform to share their story.

I’m proud that my clients have been featured in national outlets such as Buzzfeed, Blavity, Sister Circle, Forbes, Fast Company, Huffington Post, and more.

What makes us different is that we create bespoke PR campaigns that lead to more speaking opportunities, media placements, and strategic partnerships.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans are to continue to grow my brand and purchase an office space.
