Meet Desiree Dooley of Lithonia, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Dooley.

Hi Desiree, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t take the traditional route into beauty. My journey started in one of the hardest seasons of my life. After spending 4 1/2 years in federal prison, I made a promise to God, and to myself, that I would change my life for the better whenever He let me come home. I enrolled into nail school with nothing but faith, drive, and a vision for more.

What started as a way to support my family has grown into Trinity Image Nails; one of Atlanta‘s most sought after luxury nail experiences. I built my business on healthy, beautiful nails that actually last-but more than that, I built it on resilience, faith, and showing other women that it’s possible to rewrite your story no matter how it started. Today, I’m not just a nail artist- I’m an educator, mentor, and business woman, helping other nail artist create the kind of success that changes their lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but my story isn’t your typical narrative either. After coming out of prison, I had to build Trinity Image Nails from the ground up with faith, endless hours, and sheer determination. It was all about proving to myself that I could rewrite my story and create a luxury nail brand that truly stands out. Every challenge I faced was about the grind and the faith to keep going. That’s the heart of my journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the founder of Trinity Image Nails, where I specialize in luxury, long lasting hard gel nail artistry that protects the health of the natural nail. I a known for delivering nails that look flawless the day they’re done and stay flawless weeks later. No chipping, no lifting, just beautiful nails that last.

What sets me apart is my obsession with both artistry and integrity. Hard gel isn’t just my medium; it’s my signature. While many nail artists focus on speed or trends. I focus on mastering a technique that’s healthier, more durable, and far more customizable than traditional acrylic. I don’t just create nails that photograph well; I create nails that live well. Nails that can withstand real life without losing their elegance.

One of my proudest moments is seeing my clients walk out feeling more confident, and now, extending that impact by teaching other nail artist how to master their craft, grow their business, and earn what they’re worth. My work isn’t just about nails, it’s about transformation.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe risk is where faith meets opportunity. Every major shift in my life has come from stepping into something that scared me, but refusing to let fear make the decision for me.

One of the biggest risk I ever took was starting Trinity Image Nails after coming home from prison. I had no clientele, and no guarantee that it would work; but I had a vision and an amazing work ethic that wouldn’t let me quit. I invested in my education, worked 12 hour days, and build my reputation one client at a time.

To me, risk is never reckless. Is calculated, intentional, and backed by preparation. You can’t always control the outcome, but you can control the effort you put in. And I’ve learned that the biggest rewards often live on the other side of the risk we’re most afraid to take.
