Meet Donte Maurice of Donte’ Maurice Photography in West Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donte Maurice.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Donte. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I knew that I wanted to be involved with the camera in some type of way whether it was in front or behind. I ended up having a true love for being behind the camera and capturing the beautiful side of everyone. Once I realized that photography was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life I just kept practicing and testing as hard as I could putting in my 10,000 hours.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth but it also has been the bumpiest road ever. It’s been more like speed bumps. Everything really fell into place because I never the person to rush into opportunities or situations I would just let God lead me to where it was best for me to be. Some struggles would be having to deal technology going out or breaking, all the things I have no control over. One other huge struggle would be what every artist goes through and that’s feeling inadequate when it comes to your work and the content you produce.

Donte’ Maurice Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a portrait and fashion photographer. Shooting portraits is one of my favorite things to do. I love being able to work major brands, artists, and models. There’s no feeling better than working with people you’ve always looked up to or seen on television. My photographic style sets me apart. My photo style is like the right balance of raw portraits & edited fashion images that could be in campaigns or editorials.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career would have to be being commissioned by Sprite 2 years in a row while only being a sophomore in college.
