Meet Ebo ThaCoolest of EboThaCoolest in SuperNorthside Canton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebo ThaCoolest.

Ebo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been a writer! In school, I won creative writing contest all the time in elementary and middle school. That’s really the foundation of my writing along with going to college for broadcasting and journalism.

I was playing basketball at Reinhardt College and tore my Achilles which ended up with me losing my scholarship and hanging out with a new crowd, where I started picking up the smaller details of hiphop and learned how to start rapping.

I was a late bloomer!! This happened my freshman year of college and I was 19 experiencing drinking, smoking, girls, and just pure freedom from parental supervision for the first time!

And from then on, I studied hiphop as well as still keeping up with my broadcasting and journalism interest.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Chasing your dreams will NEVER be easy. It’s definitely been challenging, being an independent artist is like being an ant. There’s so many around that it’s hard to stand out unless you have a look, a sound, or a presence. Luckily, I’ve been able to tune into myself and find what makes me “ThaCoolest.”

The hardest thing that I’ve realized is trying to make genuine relationships because nobody wants to be used or taken for granted. So, just like relationship, they take time and consistency.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. What sets you apart from the competition?
So, I have 3 “hats” that I claim and it goes in the order of importance to me. I’m an indie artist, radio host, and event host.

As an artist, I’ve performed all over Georgia and now, I’ve been getting booked out of state. I went to Charlotte, North Carolina at the beginning of August, heading to Gary, Indiana September 6th, and waiting on three more dates in September for Chicago, Detroit, and Fayetteville, North Carolina.

As a Radio Host:
I’m a host on Rap City Atlanta, it’s THE hottest hiphop station for an indie artist in Atlanta. We won Internet show of the Year at the Atlanta hiphop awards along with the other cast members winning in their respective nominations. I also am a radio host for Worldstar Hit Radio.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is progression! Any day you can be further than where you were when you woke up, is a WIN!!! Every big picture comes from thousands of small strokes, so every chance I can put forth to help my exposure is just as important as the last.

Getting Young Bull of the Year at the Atlanta HipHop Awards creates by Rico Owens is definitely my biggest accomplishment so far
