Meet Fajr DeLane of F^3: Fun. Fit. Fabulous! & College Prep 4 Success in Athens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fajr DeLane.

Fajr Malika DeLane is a Bill and Melinda Millennium Gates Scholar and PEO Star Scholar that currently attends Howard University as an International Business Major. She is the Founder and Director of “F to the Third Power: Fun.Fit.Fabulous!” – a health and wellness program initiative for young girls and College Prep 4 Success – prepares youth for college and resources to graduate debt free.

DeLane’s inspiration comes from many sources: family; community; and international exposure. Her personal horizons are broad and her social perspectives well enlightened. With over 700 hours of community service, Fajr DeLane attended has been a youth ambassador many initiatives including: National Service-Learning Conference/United Religions Initiative (URI) in Denver, Colorado; Parliament of World Religions in Salt Lake City, Utah; National Muslim Women’s Summit at Harvard University; delegate at the United Nations 14th Annual Human Rights Summit; Washington Cathedral Opening Prayer Vigil for the ‘March for Our Lives’ campaign in Washington, D.C.; and the Pause and Propel Global Leadership Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa to name a few.

The summer of 2018, Fajr had the pleasure of interning at a Billion+ Dollar Company in Corporate America at Nevro Corporation in Silicon Valley. This summer she is set to intern at Autodesk software company in San Rafael, California. Before Fajr interns, she will be hosting her Fun. Fit. Fabulous clinic and College Prep 4 Success clinics in Athens, GA this late May. Fajr has had several media appearances which have included participating as a political forum panelist on Deen Talk TV, a special feature on AJ+ with over 1 million views on the topic of “My Favorite Thing About Ramadan,” and several live appearances on Athens 1470 WXAG AM radio show over the years. DeLane hopes to continue building her leadership skills and opportunities to truly be the change she hopes to see in the world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, I have had hard times in life. Some of my struggles along the journey of life have been being my best self. I used to be worried about what other people thought, what they were doing and what people thought I should be doing until one day I decided to make a conscious decision to live the life God created me to live and fulfill. Once I made that conscious decision, ever since I have been on a journey of self-mastery in becoming and giving it my very best every single day & in everything I do and choose to pursue. I believe with persistence in good deeds, positive affirmations and seeing the hardship through it will get better. I found out that you are not able to control situations around you, the only thing you are in control of is your attitude, who you are, what your doing and your personal outlook of situations.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about F^3: Fun. Fit. Fabulous! & College Prep 4 Success – what should we know?
F^3 is a Health and Wellness Mentoring Program that helps young girls become their best selves by having fun, being fit and fabulous! Many aspire to be great and set out to accomplish the unthinkable, to live a fulfilling life. However, due to our daily demand required of us, we begin to drift away from our true aspirations, passions, and goals. Often times, leaving a feeling of emptiness or an unfulfilled frustration. What if a program was designed to tell and show you are fabulous and you can still achieve the unthinkable? What if there was a program that told you that you could work on your dreams and still have so much fun? What if a program told you there is a remarkable, self-gratifying feeling of becoming and staying fit so you can be physically prepared to take on the world. A virtual sister’s network that inspires you to have fun, get fit as well as the look and feel fabulous.
