Today we’d like to introduce you to Fanchon De Luca.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Fanchon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been creative and had a big imagination since I was a little girl. Whether it was through writing, or doodling. In middle and high school, I was known for my writing and fashion sketches. I had a whole folder with various poems and songs and fashion sketches I had did. After high school I was accepted to Savannah College of Art & Design. I was majoring in fashion design. But I was struggling with balance school, work and I couldn’t take the pressure from the rude professors I had so I dropped out after only one semester. Throughout the years I dabbled in various ideas and business ventures but none really took off for me. With Fanchon’s Design Studio I came back to my roots for the love of design and being creative while still helping people.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. You know the saying you’re your own worst enemy? I would say my biggest challenge to getting to where I’m at was myself. I’ve battled with self-doubt and procrastination for many years. I use to really struggle with consistency and just believing in myself over all.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fanchon’s Design Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
Fanchon’s Design Studio specialize in all things creative. I am a graphic designer and photographer and I call myself a “Creative visionary”. I pride myself on the amazing customer service I provide to all my clients.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say I’m highly favored and divinely protected. I don’t believe in bad luck. Anything that has happened in my life that wasn’t good was only a set up for a blessing and to grow and elevate my mind further. I realize that everything truly happens for a reason and at a certain time for an exact purpose. I became pregnant last year at a time that wasn’t good for me( but God had other plans) I Had started the process of buying a home, I was working at a job I was very unhappy in but I was holding on cause I wanted to be a homeowner but after I found out I was pregnant and I was sick, I did the unexpected…. I quit my job. I remember my coworker saying to me “you don’t quit your job when you’re pregnant” but I had a vision of finally being my own boss and freedom to be a stay at home mom while earning an income. I had some hard months after I left my job in April of 2019, I was sick most of 2019 and give birth to my daughter. When I was holding her and looking at her in the hospital I said to aloud “God I want her to see her mom being a boss lady” I had this vision in my head of my kids seeing me be happy and successful. fast forward to 2020 in the midst of a whole pandemic my gifts and talent came out full force and my photography and graphic design business really flourished! I cried real tears when I starting making enough money than what I made in a day at my old jobs. I cried when I finally had an overflow of clients not just one or two clients here and there.
