Meet Hana Ali and Suzanne Mohr of Beauty Marked Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hana Ali and Suzanne Mohr.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hana and Suzanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We met on Facebook about nine years ago through a mutual friend. We discovered that we both shared a mutual love for makeup and all things beauty. We decided to join forces and offer makeup classes for the everyday woman. This led to our decision to open up our very own makeup studio where we could continue teaching our classes as well as service our growing clientele.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This experience has and continues to have its challenges as we carve out our own unique niche in the beauty industry. We are 100% responsible for EVERYTHING: the marketing, the promotion, the funding, maintaining our studio space, acquiring new clientele, and building our cosmetics brand from the ground up. Not to mention we are always seeking to grow as artists which requires a commitment to ongoing education so that we remain on the cutting edge of the latest beauty trends and techniques to set ourselves apart as leaders in the industry.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beauty Marked Midtown – what should we know?
Our business is beauty!! We’re a full-service makeup boutique specializing in high-quality makeup services for all ethnicities. We also offer a cruelty-free comprehensive makeup line called Beauty Marked Cosmetics which launched two years ago. We’re known for natural glam beauty makeovers that women love!

First of all, we believe makeup is a powerful tool that enhances a woman’s natural beauty and affects her mood; who doesn’t feel beautiful after getting their makeup done? But what we’re most proud of is the impact that we’ve made and continue to make in the lives of women by showing them how to fully embrace their natural beauty, both inside and out!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
One word: Tenacity! You have to push through because obstacles and challenges are inevitable. Collectively we understand that our commitment to our vision is bigger than any hurdle we may encounter.
