Meet Heather Pendlington of Lucky Goose Tattoo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Pendlington.

Hi Heather, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my tattoo apprenticeship in 2017 after realizing that college was not the path for me. I knew I wanted to do something involving the arts and I was lucky enough to land an apprenticeship in Woodstock after showing heaps of paintings to my then mentor. After a couple of years in the industry, I realized I wanted to make my own space that could represent a softer tattoo approach. I opened Lucky Goose Tattoo in 2022 with the goal of creating a less intimidating tattoo experience that is more about the client and less about ego.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not always been a smooth road! I think discomfort is where I grow as a business owner. Feedback from clients and colleagues is so valuable in continuing to create the space that I want for my community.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lucky Goose is a tattoo shop in Kennesaw, GA that emphasizes the comfort of our clients. We specialize in a range of styles from fine line and illustrative to neo-traditional and bold color work. We have a group of seven dedicated artists who constantly pour their love and ideas into their tattoos and into creating the best possible environment in our cozy little studio.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
One main shift I can predict for tattooing in the future is the client will have more options then ever before. As more artists continue to enrich tattooing by introducing unique styles and ideas, it will be much less difficult to find a skilled artist. I think what will make or break artists is the experience and trust that they can build with their clients.
