Meet Isis Nishae

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isis Nishae.

Isis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Photography has always been a passion of mine. As a student in high school, I started off with Film photography; quickly learning how to manually operate a camera, develop film and understand the complexity of an image. Spending hours in the dark room deepened my love and passion for creative direction and photography. It also challenged me as an artist to dig deeper. I purchased my first DSLR with my refund check from college, I told myself that I would make my passion my paycheck. To this day, I’ve photographed weddings, conferences, maternity sessions, family portraits, food, and product. I don’t believe in sticking to one style of photography. Art has no boundaries. Soon, I look forward to being a household name.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road is never to be expected. However, I believe how you handle the bumps is what determines everything. When obstacles arise, I handled them with ease, keeping my agenda at the forefront of my mind.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my fondest childhood memories is of my grandfather. He also loved photography! No matter the day or occasion, I can recall him snapping photos of myself and my family. I’m grateful that since he’s passed on, my family and I still have those memories (photos) to cherish. I want to provide the same memories for those that I capture with my lens.
