Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaiden Carroll.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I lived in a very small town called Brunswick, Georgia. The town was very small with limited, to almost to no opportunities. I always knew that I did not belong there. I always felt like I was a small-town girl with a city girl mentality. I’ve always been into makeup and I always used to get statements from the locals with comments such as “you should model, what are you doing in Brunswick?” I made it an objective to go to college in the city of Atlanta because of the unlimited opportunities and I knew that someday I wanted to model. So, with that hope I applied to college in the city of Atlanta and got accepted into Georgia State University, where I would major in Finance. Moving to the city was a huge change for me, especially because I was on my own in a major city. I had never seen real traffic or even a One-way street like the ones downtown. Everything moved quickly and never stopped whereas in Brunswick the roads were a ghost town by 8 o’clock.
My first beginnings with modeling and photoshoots began freshman year in college. I had acquired a variety of photography friends who wanted to build their photography skills as well as build their portfolio with photography. Soon after that, I joined a modeling organization on campus. Every year we have a fashion show, all while building the fundamentals and a foundation in modeling. Soon after joining this modeling organization, I began to network with more photographers and branch out to do shows within the Atlanta community. In addition to modeling and photography I wanted more, so I created a YouTube channel. There on my channel, I create makeup, hair, and advice videos. My time in the city progresses, and each day I meet new walks of people who teach me different things helpful to me, which is one of the main reasons I love Atlanta. Although I am still an amateur, I am striving for an improved game plan. Atlanta brings all kinds of opportunities, you just have to get out and find them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Since I am still beginning and getting the hang of this, it hasn’t really been smooth. You have a fair share of supporters and those who do not support you simply because they believe it is a waste of time, which in my opinion is the worst kind of struggle.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Being a model brings a variety of luck throughout the city. We get to network with all kinds of people, sometimes new brands want to use us for photographs, and we get to just create whatever we desire for the fun of it.
