Meet Jared Morgan of JAY.D Delivery & Logistics in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Morgan.

Jared, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Originally from Corsicana, TX and moved to Arlington in middle school. I was always a great student in school. After high school, I was introduced in the courier industry by my uncle. I contracted with C&D Couriers in Dallas, Texas. I fell in love with my job. When summer came to a conclusion I went to attend the University of North Texas. After a few years, I left school without a degree. I returned to Arlington and enrolled in Tarrant County College and after one semester I obtained an Associate degree in Arts. Now, I was engulfed back into the work world. I bounced around a few customer service jobs until I received my breakthrough. DJ Davis, a childhood friend, asked me if I would be interested in helping him deliver bread for Signature Bakery. Of course, I left the retail industry within two weeks and I was back a truck making deliveries in Dallas. After about a year of working and silently doing my due diligence, I came up the blueprint for JAY.D Delivery & Logistics. In October 2016, I completely turned my life on its axis. I packed up my 2002 Mercedes, kissed my teary eye’d mother goodbye and headed 20 east to Atlanta, GA. As of today, I am coming up on three years in business. I’ve accumulated more contracts, trucks, and relationships than I thought I was capable of. One thing I like to tell small business owners is to develop their pore and relationships with your clientele and the cash will find its way into your pocket.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth. I believe it is because of my previous experience in the industry, doing my due diligence prior to, and the booming economic culture in Atlanta.

JAY.D Delivery & Logistics is everything in the name. We specialize in courier, moving, and delivery in the southeast region. Our customer service and rates are unmatched and our aim is only to please. I am most proud of expanding. In the beginning, I was known as “One man and a van”. After acquiring more business and equipment, I proudly dropped my old slogan.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Started my own business sooner!
