Meet Jasmine Pruitt of Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Pruitt

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Learning who I am and really going after what I want for my family’s life got me here today ! For years I have only been “Mom” and to tell you the truth I am still that mom but I am learning how to balance also being Jasmine , a wife and an influencer ! Once I recognized that I can be all things I started realizing, “Hey Jasmine you are pretty dope!”
I have my own spin on motherhood and what that looks like these days. Over the years people gravitated towards me and gained interest in my story primarily because of the relationship I first built with my children Adam and Ava! They are the foundation of my journey’s WHY and why my name has continued to build years later .

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I laugh at this because smooth has never been the life I’ve been given ! My childhood was great ! I am the only child , my parents split when I was 5 but made sure that I never felt that. Now I have to put this out there because they were the very best coparents I could have ever had! God did that ! They made sure I lacked nothing ! Now fast forward to 19 when I had my son with my high school sweetheart. That journey forced me to grow up. Here I am making my parents proud all of these years, being a great student, amazing athlete and preparing to go to college, to now getting pregnant at the end of my senior year and becoming a single mom. It hurt me to know that I hurt them so I made sure that I took good care of Adam on my own physically even though I depended on my parents heavily financially ! Even though I was a single mom , I made it look easy ! My son and I built the most amazing mother and son relationship that we still have today 16 years later ! Him being in sports was also our thing and we bonded through me supporting everything he was a part of & him being so great on that field. Football became our life! We really had the perfect mother and son bond that the world loved to see. It wasn’t until I had my daughter Ava 7 years later that I would experience what seemed like the worst era of my life (at the time) ! I thought for sure that this time around pregnancy would be great , I would have my little girl and life will be so much better and complete. Chiiiiiile ! Lets just put it like this , life tried to give me the business by the time she was two ! So now on top of being a mom of 2 , I was still not where I wanted to be in life, my life turned into what I call a Tyler Perry movie and then becoming a single mother of now 2 children ! The following year my mom went through injustice and I stood by her fighting for justice! Between my mom hurting , me embarrassed about my life’s turn & trying to be okay while raising my kids was so hard! My most recent struggle came at a time where life was finally getting better ! I got into my career in healthcare, I found love , got married to my honey Allen , moved into our house , welcomed our baby boy Chance and boom my 4 months later my son suffers a major injury landing him in ICU for a month ! After going through this experience with my son this summer, every trial and suffering I had ever felt prior to this didn’t matter anymore . Watching my son fight for his mobility was the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. This situation became the official turning point for my life in general. My faith in God restored, what I desired in life elevated and I started to have tunnel vision for how our lives will be moving forward ! That pain woke me up and knocked me out of my misery ! The struggle has been real and I am so thankful that I don’t look like what I’ve been through !

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My desire was always to be a RN. That desire ended after taking college courses and realizing that I have the weakest stomach and there is no way I am built for this LOL! I turned those courses into healthcare management courses ! This step landed me a career in the medical field but behind a desk assisting the doctors and patients without being in the room ! That’s a win win for me! Now once that laptop closes at 5pm I work as a part time content creator and mom influencer ! While I was pregnant I was laid off or one job that I had for 7 years and when I was on maternity leave, my other job did not pay me a dime but ironically while not getting a paycheck from my corporate job I made the most money off of social media that surpassed my biweekly checks ! That’s when I knew, very soon I will be a full time influencer in no time! I am pouring my everything into Busy As A Motha ! I am inspiring moms and women to be that girl and some which is what I am actually known for ! Yes I’m a mom but being a mom in my book looks different and other women want that for themselves as well. I am most proud of how I have become a positive influence in my community . ! I see my influence when I look around! Women are constantly reaching out and sharing their stories of what I did or said that changed their lives and perspectives! The fact that I can still be an influence through the hell I’ve been through just reassures me that I’m serving my purpose and I love this for me !

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes ! First always put God first ! God is the answer , the provider, the OMEGA , and all that you need to get through anything! I am obligated to give him all the praise ! He has pulled me out and through all of my hardships !
Secondly don’t ever settle ! You deserve a fulfilled life ! We only get one!

Follow your dreams and share your knowledge! Do NOT give up ! Dont sit around and watch others live a fulfilled life ! Fulfill yours !
I am a walking testimony and I haven’t even reached my peak but when you watch me , please know that I am giving it everything that I have to be able to put my family in a prosperous position! My family be driving me up the wall but I love them so much ! Everything I do is for them and I hope that my influence continues to do Gods work and put me in the position to be able to give back !
I have always wanted to be that person, God willing.
Now I can’t do an interview without acknowledging my foundation !
Thank you mom and dad for raising me right and leading by example, they get all the credit after God ! To my honey, thank you for coming in our lives, becoming my husband and taking on a major responsibility so that we can together elevate! Last but certainly not least, to my children, when I say God blessed me with the role of motherhood ! I never knew how powerful the love for your children can be and how it forever changes you! I thank God for choosing me to be your mom!
