Meet Jenny Lind of Mystique Brows in Buford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Lind.

Jenny, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was an Atlanta hairstylist and makeup artist for almost 15 years. I owned two salons in here the metro Atlanta area. I think not only did the physical strain on my body from doing hair pushed me to look for a different avenue in the beauty industry, but also the fact that I wanted to explore new trends that were on the rise. I stumbled upon “microblading “at 3 am -ish on FB 2015, during a sleepless night episode, lol. I first was inquiring about getting my own brows done, but then I thought that is a perfect service to offer. I contacted the artist who’s the video I was watching. She was from Lithuania! I hosted her first class in the USA, and the rest is history, I went on the travel the world and several countries teaching and learning new techniques.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road this looks much easier than it seems. Not only becoming a skilled professional but being in an industry as an Afro Latina. It was very rare as the demographics of permanent make up artists/industry was a predominantly white female. This has been my biggest struggle to date! No one can stop how you grow as an artist, that is personal. But people can TRY to stand In the way of your progression in many other ways. I was so frustrated on how other minority artists were being treated that I decide along with my partner to co-founded the PMU Women of Color Conference, which is a platform that celebrates ethnic permanent make up artists. I am very proud of it. So this is bigger than me just being an artist.

Please tell us about your business.
I am known for creating a timeless and natural permanent make up brow called the Boundless Brow ™️. What sets me apart is that I have a moto. One eyebrow does NOT fit all, And I’m able to give my clients a very personalized brow service. I am proud that I can work on any skin. I take pride in being able to take virtually any client that walks through my door and have them leaving very happy. I am proud that I am able to teach other what I have learned through my advance training and experience. I am proud to represent a large audience of the artist who wouldn’t necessarily have a voice in this industry.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as being able to do what you love most. Writing your own success story. Being your own boss And, most of all, passing it forward to people who are trying to do the same. As a permanent make up trainer, I find that it is extremely important to connect with your students.
