Meet Jeremiah Adeola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Adeola.

Hi Jeremiah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started this business as nothing more than an outlet for me to try new things and create cool stuff. I was in middle school and had a bit of spare cash, but I knew I really wanted to start a business. I took what I had and went all-in on an old heat press and never looked back.

My first couple of shirts and ideas were definitely not the greatest, but over time, it evolved into more of a storytelling and conceptual endeavor. Every time I approach a new idea or release, I have a message or a story I want to illustrate. Revival has become a way for me to be vulnerable and authentic about my life to try and help others through their own trials and tribulations. Looking back, the growth in the business and my creative growth have been indicative of my personal growth throughout life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not haha. Honestly, I think a part of the growing pains in building a brand like this is knowing that the process is never going to be a smooth road. Things never really go according to plan, but that’s the point. Revival is nowhere close to where I want it, but I try to always take it one step in front of the other. Obviously, I’m pretty young to be worrying about scaling and brand building as opposed to classes or exams, but juggling everything is part of the fun. It might be balancing the books, learning new design software, trying to network, or anything in between. One of my first challenges was before I even started the company in learning how to build a website.

Thank God for YouTube tutorials, but I would spend hours after my days in middle school playing with themes and WordPress plugins trying to set up pages or make something that didn’t look like a 13-year-old developed it. I would say recently, I’ve struggled to try and trust myself creatively and put myself out there. Being confident and consistent is a skill and an underrated one at that. It’s hard to convince other people to care about the story you want to tell if you aren’t 100% behind it yourself. So yeah, a work in progress for sure. There’s always something. It comes with the territory.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Revival Apparel Co releases apparel and content centered around storytelling and vulnerability. Over the years, that’s taken on multiple forms, and whether it’s through music, poetry, photography, or anything else, the mission is to help people in whatever season life has them in. It’s led me to try so many new mediums creatively, even starting a podcast to try and share my thoughts and do something different. I’ve never tried to put limits on it, and I think that’s what really makes the difference between Revival and other brands. Not that there isn’t value in a good shirt or cool branding aesthetics, but there’s something to be said about telling a great story. Something people can buy into. Something they can remember to inspire them or just keep them company. What I’m most proud of is that I’m trying to build something bigger than clothing. That’s what I do.

How do you think about luck?
That’s actually a pretty great question. I would say it’s been a double-edged sword. I’ve definitely caught a few breaks here and there over the years being in the right place at the right time, but I’ve yet to say that I’ve had much “luck” involved in growing quite yet. No friends that went on to be Instagram or Tik Tok famous. No celebrity endorsements haha. But I’d like to think whatever my “luck” looks like, it’s always around the next corner. There’s that quote, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” I just want to be ready whenever my time comes. Whatever that looks like.
