Meet Kayla Winston of Elleven Hair Co in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Winston.

Kayla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey as a hairstylist started many years ago in high school mostly for friends and family. I became a professional cosmetologist and business owner all thanks to my daughter, Zoey. After giving birth to her my world shifted and I knew whatever I did, I had to be great, for her. So, I enrolled in Cosmetology school, got licensed and started my business, which will one day be passed on to her.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Lord knows this journey has not been smooth but it has been well worth it. I went through a lot of bumps in the road, many late nights and plenty of financial struggles. I stayed determined and ambitious about my dreams however because I knew the journey wouldn’t be easy. I stayed consistent and prayed my way to where I am today.

Elleven Hair Co – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Elleven began in 2019 after many months of brainstorming. I took my passion for switching up my looks with wigs and colors and turned it into a business. We offer custom wig creations, hair extensions and luxury hair services to clients in ATL and many states across the US. My business is known for producing some of the most creative hair pieces. I specialize in exotic hair color for my out of the box clientele. I have to say I’m most proud of the fact that I’m able to create pieces you won’t see or get anywhere else. One of a kind, tailor made creations specifically for each client. And that’s the difference.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is not just one specific area of life. It means being whole, grounded in all areas of self and business. It’s a never-ending cycle of growth and elevation. You have to see your higher self and work daily to get there. I use this method in my personal and business life.
