Today we’d like to introduce you to Kearia Alexander.
Hi Kearia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, my journey into beauty wasn’t some perfectly planned-out thing. For years, I worked in the corporate world in the HR leadership space, and while I was successful on paper, I knew deep down it wasn’t where my passion lived. I wear a lot of hats personally, and often taking care of everyone else, I realized between those roles and corporate, I had stopped pouring into myself creatively.
Beauty had always been something people connected me to naturally. Whether it was makeup, fashion, brows, or just the way I carried myself, people would constantly stop me to ask questions or compliment something. Over time, I realized beauty wasn’t just surface-level for me, it was connected to confidence, identity, and how women feel when they look in the mirror.
I started Lush Haus Studio with a vision of creating more than just another beauty studio. I wanted women to walk into a space that felt calming, elevated, and safe especially busy women who spend so much of their lives taking care of everyone else. What started with makeup and lashes eventually evolved into brows and permanent makeup, and that’s when everything really clicked for me.
There were definitely moments where it felt scary. Building a business while balancing family life, financial pressure, and the uncertainty of starting over in a completely different industry is not easy. My husband and I built a lot of this from the ground up ourselves. There were late nights, sacrifices, and plenty of moments where I questioned if I was making the right move. But every time a client looked in the mirror and became emotional because they felt beautiful or confident again, it reminded me why I started.
Today, Lush Haus has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s still evolving, but at the core of it all is the same mission: helping women feel effortlessly confident and seen. And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road and honestly, I think that’s what makes this journey so meaningful to me.
A lot of people see the finished work or the aesthetic side of entrepreneurship, but they don’t always see what happens behind the scenes. I started building my business while still balancing motherhood, marriage, caregiving, and everyday life. There were seasons where I felt stretched in every direction possible.
Financially, entrepreneurship can also be really humbling in the beginning. There were moments where I questioned myself, wondered if I was making the right decision, or felt the pressure of trying to build something stable from the ground up. My husband and I have poured so much into this dream, and there were definitely sacrifices involved.
Another challenge was learning to believe in myself enough to fully pivot into this industry. Beauty is something I genuinely love, but stepping away from the identity I had built in corporate America was scary. I had to learn that success doesn’t always look the way you originally imagined it would.
I’ve also learned that building a business is deeply personal. You grow professionally, but you also grow emotionally. You learn confidence, resilience, boundaries, patience and you learn how to keep showing up even when things feel uncertain.
But through every challenge, there’s always been confirmation from God that I’m walking in purpose. Whether it’s a client crying happy tears after seeing her brows for the first time or a woman telling me she feels beautiful again, those moments remind me why I started. And I truly believe the difficult seasons gave me the heart and perspective I needed to build Lush Haus into what it is becoming.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lush Haus Studio is a luxury beauty studio focused on helping women feel effortlessly confident through services like powder brows, lashes, makeup, and brow artistry. We specialize in natural, soft glam results that enhance your features instead of overpowering them.
What sets us apart is talent and the overall experience. I wanted Lush Haus to feel warm, elevated, and personal, not transactional. A lot of our clients are busy women, moms, professionals, or women rebuilding confidence, so every service is designed to make beauty feel easier and more empowering.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built something that feels genuine. Clients trust us not just because of the results, but because of how we make them feel. At the end of the day, this isn’t just about beauty services for me, it’s about helping women see themselves differently when they look in the mirror.
How do you think about luck?
I honestly don’t look at my journey as luck per se, good or bad. My faith has played a huge role in both my life and my business, and I truly believe God has guided me through every season of this journey.
There were too many moments where things aligned in ways I couldn’t have planned on my own, especially during difficult or uncertain seasons. Even the challenges taught me something and pushed me closer to purpose. I always say God is my business partner because I’ve always leaned on faith, prayer, and obedience more than anything else while building Lush Haus.
That doesn’t mean the journey has been easy, but it does mean I’ve never felt like I was building alone.
