Meet Kenja Pharr of KandiKoatedMinks in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenja Pharr.

Kenja, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business Feb 3rd, 2019. I worked at Walmart working a part-time jobs and tried to balance a job on campus. I started to become miserable and knew that I didn’t want to work there anymore I also knew that the day my mother had died was approaching which is Feb 3rd, and I didn’t want to recognize this day as a sad day, but a good day. so I decided to do something in honor of her and I decided to invest in myself. I knew I didn’t have the patience for hair, and makeup just wasn’t really my thing so I decided to take a lash class. Before my lash class I was so determined to become a great lash tech that I already started practicing I took five friends did their lashes for free and used them for promotion. It worked and people started to book me. Practice, practice, practice is what has got me to where I am today. Trial and error. You will make mistakes and you will learn from them. Also prayer and keeping god first is what has got me to where I am now.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being in the lash industry has been a smooth road. I get so much support and even other lash technicians that I think is dope tell me how dope I am so it kinda keeps me going.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the KandiKoatedMinks story. Tell us more about the business.
I am the CEO of KandiKoatedMinks. I am a Lash Technician and I specialize in almost everything you throw me any picture I can make it happen. I am known for my classic sets. I am proud of the growth my business has had without being a year yet. I am grateful and I know that God has much more in store for me. What sets me apart from others is my marketing. I would say I try to remain different and tie my business name and may deceased mom’s name all in one. My mom’s name is Candy and thats pretty much where KandiKoatedMinks came from. My business has meaning and a purpose.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry over the next 5-10 years as a company. I want to see my brand become a major lash company.
