Meet Kim Pratcher of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Pratcher.

Hi Kim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I didn’t start off the traditional way. I attended college, majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. During my Sophomore year of college, I became pregnant. I decided to move back to my home town, Nashville. I knew I wanted more for my baby and I, so a year after I gave birth, I began to tap in more of my gift, hairstyling. With help from my mom and my child’s father, I was able to finish cosmetology school, while working for the State of Tennesse as an office clerk. From there I took a leap of faith to quit that job to focus on my craft. Present day, I’ve been utilizing my girl for over 20yrs. I’ve had to pleasure in meeting Kim Kimble, working with recording gospel artist Benita Washington as well as comedian Katt Williams. During this journey, I meet some awesome woman from all walks of life that has trusted me with their mane, my clients. These women and men are more than just customers…they’re family. I’ve encountered women and men that has scalp issues such as alopecia. I had cancer patients as clients and friends. In 2017, I become a patient. No not to cancer but to PBC, Primary Biliary Cirrhosis of the liver. That’s were my immune system attacks the cells that line the bile ducts. This was out of nowhere. No family history. No known causes for me. I got so sick that I had to stop working for 2yrs. I felt like God was taking my gift away. For what reason, i didn’t understand why. I lost tons of weight. My hair began coming out in patches leaving quarter size bald spots. I remember praying to God asking him why? What was the meaning? Days later, I had dreams and day dreams of hair growing, oils, and herbs. At the time, none of that made sense. A dear friend of mine told me that I should get a journal and put it by my bedside so when I have dreams to right them out…and I did. I began to make a hair growth serum, but just for me I thought. After trails and errors, I finally mastered a serum that works. Hair began to grow back were the bald patches were leaving my hair thicker and longer than ever. I let another friend use it just to see if I’ll work for here, and it did. From there she began telling everyone. I had no bottles or a name. So back to praying I go and before I knew it, God gave me the name, Oh My Growth! Oh MyGrowth! has been used world wide with excellent results and reviews. Today I am a wife, mother of 3, and a successful business owner with more businesses to come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is ever smooth. My struggles were learning the different hats that I would wear. From mother to wife then wife to business owner. In my line of business is serving. So you have to learn how to serve your clients. They all require a different hat. Listener, counselor, hair stylist, private investigator. Lol

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a hair stylist specializing in natural hair and scalp care. I’m known for being/starting on time, honesty and knowledge, professionalism and speed. I’m most proud of ..me. Being the woman I am today and my accomplishments. What sets me apart is I’m no nonsense. I don’t overbook myself with clients. Each client has their own time with me. That 1 on 1 time. I never want my clients to feel their in an assembly line.
