Today we’d like to introduce you to Kwavi Agbeyegbe.
Kwavi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all began in September 1987. I was 19 attending University in London. I got home after a long day at school and put on the tv and switched between the whopping 4 channels they had at the time. I settled on a documentary about cattle.
That documentary changed my life as it showcased the horrible conditions in which cattle are raised and the process cows go through for meat to get to our table.
I made a decision at that point to stop eating meat. Just like that. That documentary touched me on so many levels – the cruelty angle, the hygiene factor and the health aspect.
I decided to investigate other foods. I stopped eating white bread, cut out fizzy drinks, chicken, turkey and fish became my main source of protein. Evian and Perrier became my favorite beverages. Don’t ask me how I managed that on a University budget. I read labels and became acutely aware of what I put in my body and shared my knowledge with others around me. Needless to say, most of my friends thought I was crazy.
I researched more and realized that I needed to add exercise to my routine. I started a kids exercise group. Unfortunately, no one signed up. That didn’t discourage me as I continued on and shared with anyone that would listen.
I was studying Information Technology at college and I knew there wasn’t any way I could incorporate that into my career, so I continued living a health lifestyle while encouraging family and friends on the benefit.
In 2012, I knew I had to do more and wanted to create a bigger impact. I went back to school to get learn more about health coaching and life coaching. In 2014, I became certified in weight coaching and began my coaching practice later that year.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not. Learning how to market online was challenging for me. My client base is online so I had to learn how to market online. Also, I’m my brand so it was important to make that clear and showcase that in my material which was hard for me in the beginning because it meant putting myself out there warts and all. It has definitely become easier.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kwavi.com – what should we know?
I’m a Certified Weight Loss Coach + Lifestyle coach, Speaker and specialize in helping bright, successful women in their 40’s and over manage their health, mindset and waistlines. I’m an advocate for body acceptance and loving yourself from the inside out.
“I want women to feel fabulous, beautiful and confident in their skin and turn their lives into their personal catwalk.”.
I show women how to nourish their minds and bodies so that they can become a dazzling and vibrant version of themselves. We are all unique and I want to show women that beautiful and unique version of themselves that might have been hidden over the years. Women give so much to others and frequently forget about themselves. My belief is that it is hard to keep on giving without nourishing yourself in some way. I truly believe you cannot give from an empty cup. Over time it works, but eventually, the cracks show and resentment begins to take up residence in those cracks. Once resentment kicks in, the joy you once felt begins to diminish and before long , life becomes a chore.
I’m known for helping women live healthy lifestyles while taking care of themselves and having fun while doing it. Boring and mundance is not part of my vocabulary.
I’m 50 and I’ve been doing this since I was 19. My business is part of who I am. I live this way and let others know they can do the same.
I’m most proud of the luxury intimate retreats I’ve created and organized for women called The Simply Vibrant Life. My first one was The Simply Vibrant Life -Thailand in 2017. For 2018, I have a retreat scheduled for June in Phuket and another retreat in Morocco in October. The retreats have been designed to introduce women to a new way to recharge so that they can be a happier and vibrant version of themselves while feeling 100% guilt-free and learning how to place a priority on their own self-care.
The Simply Vibrant Life is an experience takes women from the feeling of exahaustion and worn out daily to excited and energized, ready to ignite their passions, rekindle their dreams and practice self-care in a radical way without the guilt. An experience that delights and surprises the participant. An experience designed to celebrate each and every attendee.
My age (I’m 50) and experience (being practicing this since I was 19) sets me apart as well as my fun and energizing spirit. I believe life begins in midlife.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
