Meet Leah Alexander

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Alexander.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
As a Los Angeles native with an international design consciousness, my passion is improving indoor and outdoor spaces. After ten years of working in the design community in Los Angeles and Southern California where I’m from, and in Atlanta where I currently live, I incorporated my own design company, Beauty Is Abundant LLC.

My holistic objective is to inspire a more beautiful world by sharing what I’ve learned (and continue learning every day) with friends (Hi, friends!), family and clients. This includes a variety of geographical and cultural design approaches and mindful lifestyle considerations.

I’ve worked in technical capacities ranging from eco-friendly building practices to the ins and outs of kitchen and bath plumbing, custom cabinetry, fixtures, etc. Once the nitty-gritty details are thoroughly addressed, my pressing priority becomes making sure that beauty is abundant in every space in which I am involved. When I’m not working with clients to manifest their design destinies, I am creating quality content about interiors, intended to inspire and educate.

I am a contributing writer to New York-based Design w Care’s journal. I’ve partnered with ADAC (the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) to create Instagram video content for its week-long celebration of Interior Design, Discover ADAC. And I was honored to be a judge in this year’s Castleberry Hill Loft Tour, a special event in a historic Atlanta district brimming with indie art galleries and a rich diversity of creative expression. And what’s a Designer without merch? I’m excited to have launched the Beauty Is Abundant Shop this fall. This collection of gems is what I hope is the first of many moves Beauty Is Abundant LLC makes in the e-commerce space!

Please tell us about your art.
My art is creative expression through Interior Design projects and related content geared toward educating and celebrating Design. Beauty Is Abundant LLC offers Interior Design services ranging from styling to sourcing, sampling, and procurement.

I nurture meaningful strategic partnerships within the Design Community, which is instrumental in meeting and exceeding client expectations. I consistently deepen vendor relationships. I am accountable to my clients and stakeholders; from contractors to logistics companies, collaborators and sponsors. I do it because I love it. I absolutely love Design.

Over the last decade, I’ve learned so much about what people don’t know, or facets of Design about which homeowners are misinformed. I take joy in demystifying the process, jargon and also exploring the grit and clarity it takes to establish a Design business. My message is always: Beauty Is Abundant. The business of design; the schlepping of tables and chairs, samples, cans of paint, houseplants, you name it; the ever-demanding social media maintenance, the job site challenges – all beautiful when taken in stride.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
The role of the Designer is constantly evolving. We see this in the growing popularity of online companies like Homepolish and Modsy. We see this in the growing importance of social media as a platform for business.

Working in an industry alongside creatively expressive people will remain an intimate, rewarding existence. But that intimacy’s reach is made vast through technology. As artists, embracing the vulnerability inherent in the technological space as a means of connecting and showcasing work is a unique experience. For me, this means being intentional, mindful and strategic about anything I put out, and being present in all that I do, to be sure I capture some if it for my social media family.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
