Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Bryant.
Lisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I “STARTED” cutting hair when I was 5 years old, under the kitchen table with my Play Dough scissors. I began taking “clients” (my brother and his friends) when I was around 15. Needless to say the Beauty Bug bit me young. When I was in my early 20s I was a nurse and miserable. I just wanted to do hair, so I got up the nerve to tell my parents about my BIG career change thinking they would be less than happy with my decision. But they knew where my heart always was and that was in the beauty field. So off I went to Vidal Sasson in Santa Monica CA to learn from the Best! Graduating top in my class I went on to have a long and successful career in the hair field as a master stylist, Barber, Educator and salon owner. And I couldn’t be happier and feel so blessed to be in an industry I love and respect. Personally, I am very traditional and classic in the way I see hair. I love precision in a cut, natural shades in my color. And most of all I am adamant in giving my guest my full and undivided attention and customize their experience with me so they walk out feeling and looking the best they can. I have an extreme attention to detail and never cut corners. I moved from California to Georgia where I opened Lather Lounge in Alpharetta. It’s a Luxury Barber suite where you can relax in a private suite, have a beverage get a great Haircut and a traditional wet shave “with a twist” meaning several hot towels, lathers, facial, massage and essential oils along the way. My job is to make you look and feel amazing. It’s what I do
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing in life is easy. But if you want it enough it becomes a passion. I have always been extremely motivated because I love it. With that, I don’t think you can fail. Having a huge clientele in California for 24 years and moving to a new state was tough, to say the least. Any stylist will tell you building a loyal clientele is work and takes years. Many of my clients in California had been with me since I started so they were like family. Moving to a new state where you don’t know anyone and building again is a new challenge. I’ve done it once and I’ll do it again, with a lot of wisdom under my belt.
Please tell us about Lather Lounge.
I am a licensed cosmetologist and a licensed barber. I am called a crossover. So I do it all. I’m very proud to be a female barber in a very male dominated career. I have been doing hair for 24 years. I fell in love with the barbering aspect. I truly feel it’s time for men to enjoy the grooming experience women always had. Men have been programmed to be embarrassed by “self-grooming” but that’s changing and I wanted to add a touch of luxury to their barber visit. Small touches make a world of difference. I don’t even tell them what I’m doing most of the time because, well “they don’t care” I’ve learned in my many years that men kinda hope you know what will look best and be easy for them to maintain and just handle it. So that’s what I do. And they LOVE it, which makes me LOVE it. When I sit the barber chair up and my guy is so relaxed he can barely talk I’m Happy! I just made this person feel Good. What could be better?
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I honestly can’t say I would do anything differently. I learn from mistakes and that makes me better. I’ve mentored many young stylists with good advice from lessons I’ve learned in hope they can avoid certain things and really focus on others and I’m very happy and complete with that.

Literally the best hair experience I’ve ever had. My dreaded visits and waits at the barber have become a focal appointment that make me look and feel better. Being 100% relaxed when you leave, that’s a byproduct of Lisa’s excellence in customer care. I always look forward to my next appointment with Lisa. If you haven’t been lucky enough to stumble upon her (like I was), you’re doing yourself a disservice by not seeking her out after reading this.
