Meet Sydney Duckworth of Loveleigh Co. Photography in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Duckworth.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, I always had a desire to capture moments. My mom fondly reminds me that everywhere I went, a disposable camera followed. Whether it was action shots of my siblings doing something silly or taking the occasional ‘selfie’ with friends before ‘selfie’s’ we are thing, I always felt my most comfortable and creative with a camera in my hands.

Fast forward to my sophomore year of high school and I received my first DLSR Nikon D90 as a Christmas gift. I was sooo proud of owning a camera of that caliber and that is when photography and the desire to professionally capture others became a deep desire of mine. Although photography is so prevalent now, while I was in high school, it was still a pipe dream for someone to achieve being a photographer as a profession. Upon entering college I decided that no matter the journey, that I would pursue my dream as far as it would allow me. You never know, unless you try.

It is that motto that carried me through many years of hard work and dedication making my dream a reality. I began small like everyone does, but just as in any career, your heart has to burn bright for what you do. I feel that I have been blessed with the most amazing clients who not only have allowed me to learn and grow both personally and professionally but who have also seen potential in me that I may not have seen myself at the starting line. It is that potential and desire that has allowed my business to grow and develop as it has. I now am a full-time traveling portrait and wedding photographer, living the dream I always hoped for – but only achieved with hard work and the faith of my clients, family, and friends.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With any path you take, there are twists and turns along the way. It wouldn’t be a worth the end results without them! Before I went full time in my business, I was a server at Texas Roadhouse, a full-time student at the University of North Georgia and also taking on internships while also striving to build my photography portfolio and clientele. Growing clientele when you are starting from scratch is so challenging at times and often feels defeating. When will I “make it”? and many more questions of doubt flooded my mind, but the one thing I can attest to is that people see your passion, or lack thereof, and run with it. You have to want it and not be afraid of a little hard work to get the end goal you desire.

Loveleigh Co. Photography specializes in local and worldwide portrait and wedding photography services. We are most commonly known for our wedding work but are proud of our family + senior portrait services offered also.

As a company, we feel that our dedication to our clients, along with our vibrant approach to photography really sets us apart from the rest. While we are not considered “moody and dark” nor “light and airy”, vibrant and golden hues are our calling card and really allow us to stand out from the group.

Our relationships with our clients are like none other. We are nothing without them, which makes each inquiry we receive a positive one whether it turns into a booking or not. Our relationships with our clients, who turn into more of friends after the services are over, are so unique as I feel that our vibrant feel in photos pairs well with our vibrant outlook and attitude with each client we get the opportunity to work with. 90% of our bookings are referrals which is something we are extremely proud of as word of mouth is the best form of advertisement out there. We are extremely fortunate and proud of all of the support that we have received in our seven years of business and look forward to many more.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Loveleigh Co. Photography has big plans for the future and we are so excited for all that is to come! We have no plans of slowing down anytime soon! We are always growing and evolving as the years go by, but currently the main goal is offer a more traveling services for our out of state and out of country bride and grooms. As weddings have become the majority of our yearly bookings, we would love to connect with more individuals from all over to expand Loveleigh Co. Photography as well as capture some epic weddings and portraits along the way!
