Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcolm and Nedra Lewis.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We launched in September 2015. The goal of our vision was to address a need in the Austell and surrounding communities. Austell wanted to revitalize and no one was showing interest, so we thought making the initial investment into the revitalization efforts through a Coffee & Bistro would kick off some good momentum which it did because other investors and eateries soon followed. We wanted to also bring unity to a very divided town and what better way to do this than through a Coffee & Bistro a place where diverse people can come and relax and socialize over great food and beverage. The word Cenacle is Latin for Gathering. We wanted to serve hope in a very hopeless time and we believe The Cenacle Coffee & Bistro is doing just that.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road definitely has been rough. We started in a city that was not ready for new ideas and visions. This posed many challenges with some of the city officials, but through time and new officials we are finding things are significantly better. Of course we just got impacted by this COVID 19 pandemic which has really impacted our business as everyone else’s. We are committed to weathering the storm. We are still operating and have even begun feeding the community for free Hot meals two days a week to assist the residents with food relief.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Cenacle Coffee & Bistro – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our company is about providing hope and empowerment. We are good at serving great food with an awesome cooking staff and specialty coffees and other drinks. We are even more known for the experience we provide our customers through serving in the spirit of love and Passion. We also host many free empowerment and educational events from health to family to finances to position the community for strength.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our goal is to expand our vision/operations into more parts of metro Atlanta and beyond.
