Meet Marjane’ of J Jane Music Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marjane’.

Marjane’, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. I became a Recording Artist in 2005. I grew up in Church but started in R&B music. God, of course, had a different call on my life. I began writing Gospel and Inspirational music when I re-dedicated my life to Christ 20 years ago. From that, J Jane Music Group was birthed. I had so much music that God was giving me that I knew it was for others. My music inspires, encourages, and uplifts everyone who hears it across the world and for that, I am grateful. To date, I have 3 cd’s and over 30 nominations and wins. Its been quite a road and I’m grateful for the ups, the downs and the in between that independent artist experiences. Lol, My current single “I Choose You” has had a whirlwind of recognition in the independent gospel community since the release. The video is currently on YouTube reaching over 12k views! I’m so overjoyed at the responses from all of those across the world and on the radio!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggles along the way are just that of an independent artist. We try and balance bills, family, and careers at the same time. Sometimes it’s difficult, but as for me, I pray and ask God for balance to do it all. We are living in a world now where record labels aren’t signing artists and handing over big checks anymore. We try our best to do it on our own.

Please tell us about your work.
I’m a Singer and a Songwriter. I love vocal production work, whether live or in-studio.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being steadfast and never giving up is the key to my success. I get the job done and done with excellence. It’s the vision God gave me so, I keep my eyes on that vision and watch it manifest in the earth.
