Max Jr. & Latonya Bingham

Hi Max Jr. & Latonya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our journey to RoboThink East Atlanta is rooted in service, shaped by resilience, and driven by a belief that every child deserves access to opportunity.

Our story begins in the Mississippi Delta, where we were raised in tight‑knit communities that taught us the value of giving back. Service wasn’t something we learned — it was woven into who we were. In 2016, we launched The Bingham Foundation to support families in our hometown through book bag drives, Christmas giveaways for foster children, family sponsorships, and scholarships for graduating seniors.

When the pandemic hit, everything changed. Overnight, the community events that fueled our mission disappeared. Instead of connecting with families face‑to‑face, we were dropping off supplies at churches and waving from a distance. That pause forced us to reflect. We knew we wanted to create deeper, lasting change, and narrowing our focus became the first step. When we asked ourselves where our impact could be most meaningful long‑term, every answer pointed toward education and early exposure to STEM.

So we did.

As parents, we had already introduced STEM to our son at age three, and we saw how early exposure sparked confidence, curiosity, and creativity. Growing up, we never had access to anything like that. We knew we could change that story for today’s children — especially those who are under‑resourced, neurodiverse, or often overlooked.

That vision led us to invest in a STEM education franchise and launch RoboThink East Atlanta, a fully mobile STEM company bringing robotics, coding, and AI directly into schools and communities. What began as a handful of workshops quickly grew into a movement. Today, we partner with 14 schools and multiple Gwinnett Parks & Recreation locations, delivering hands‑on STEM learning to children across the region. And through The Bingham Foundation, we ensure that cost never becomes a barrier for families who need support.

Our mission is simple: take STEM everywhere — especially to the kids who need it most. Every day, we watch futures open because of it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any growing organization, our journey has come with its share of challenges. The demand for our programs has increased faster than we ever imagined, and keeping up with that growth hasn’t always been easy. We’re constantly working to hire the right team members, expand our partnerships, and earn the trust of more schools who invite us into their buildings to run our programs.

Balancing it all while both of us work full‑time has been one of the biggest hurdles. We’re stretched thin at times, making sure every class is staffed, prepared, and run with the level of excellence families expect from us. But even with the long nights and the juggling act, we stay committed because we see the impact — and that makes every challenge worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about RoboThink East Atlanta & The Bingham Foundation?
RoboThink East Atlanta and The Bingham Foundation work hand‑in‑hand, but each plays a unique role in our mission.

Professionally, we both come from healthcare — Max as a project manager and former engineer with more than 15 years of experience, and Tonya as a Supervisor and Cardiovascular Sonographer professional for nearly two decades. Our healthcare backgrounds taught us the importance of precision, safety, and structured learning — and we bring that same standard into every STEM class we deliver.

RoboThink East Atlanta is our primary engine for impact. We are a fully mobile STEM education company specializing in robotics, coding, and AI for children ages 4–15. Very few STEM programs in our region operate with a fully mobile model — and even fewer are intentionally designed to reach neurodiverse learners through our Xceptional STEM program on Saturdays and under‑resourced communities. What sets us apart is our ability to bring high‑quality STEM learning directly into schools, community centers, and neighborhoods — eliminating barriers that often prevent children from accessing these opportunities.

We’re especially proud of the trust we’ve built. Schools invite us into their classrooms because they know we deliver structured, engaging programs that feel like play but build real‑world skills. Families tell us their children leave our classes more confident, more curious, and more excited about learning. That’s the heart of our brand.

The Bingham Foundation ensures that access is equitable. Through scholarships, sponsorships, and community partnerships, we provide STEM opportunities to under‑resourced students who might otherwise be left out. Together, RoboThink and the Foundation create a bridge — one that leads children toward confidence, opportunity, and futures they may have never imagined.

We are building pathways —
Pathways to confidence.
Pathways to opportunity.
Pathways to futures our younger selves never had access to.

At our core, we are a mission‑driven STEM organization built on access, equity, and excellence.

And we’re just getting started.

Whether through RoboThink’s after‑school programs or The Bingham Foundation’s community support, our mission remains the same: to open doors for children and show them that they belong in the world of STEM. Our goal is to expand into even more schools and communities, ensuring every child has a clear pathway into STEM.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
We’re big believers in personal growth and leadership development. We gravitate toward books and podcasts that focus on purpose, discipline, and service — resources that remind us why we do this work and how to lead with heart. Anything rooted in faith, community impact, or building something meaningful for the next generation resonates deeply with us.

But our greatest inspiration doesn’t come from a book or a podcast. It comes from the kids. Watching their excitement, seeing their confidence grow, and witnessing their curiosity come alive fuels us in a way nothing else can. Their joy reminds us that we’re not just teaching STEM — we’re shaping futures.
