Meet Miracle Sims of Miracle Plays in West End

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miracle Sims.

In 2012, Miracle Sims started Miracle Plays as a way to create her own work! Inspired by the idea of playing and creating custom characters and children’s parties. However, Miracle Plays quickly became a business for all ages when her first event/ booking was a wedding! After a brief hiatus, she relaunched the business in 2014, and focus on being the party entertainment.

Since the relaunch, she has partnered with Playing With Murder to create Mystery Shows as well as several custom shows for all ages!

Over the past few years, Miracle Plays has traveled around Georgia, surrounding states, and as far as Celina Texas to perform a variety of shows! Now they have opened the doors to their very own space within the Mutiny Artwrx Community!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are a lot of things that have gone rather smoothly overall, and there have been ups and downs as any business would have. However, by the grace of God we are still here, and moving forward. I would say that the biggest obstacle is also the most important, and that is building a team. I work pretty well alone, but I understand that I can’t do everything effectively by myself. My “team” may be small, but we all have our strengths and we work well together through our weaknesses. I’m looking forward to see what we are able to do as a unit.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
From our interactive shows, and to our unique, and custom characters we strive to bring parties, and events to life a variety of ways! We currently specialize in Mystery Parties, and custom shows, and immersive experiences for all ages!

Our most popular show at the moment is our 1920’s themed show “Jazz Age Jeopardy”! We recently joined the Mutiny Artwrx Community and transformed a space that was a literal blank slate into an intimate speakeasy in two weeks!

I’m so thankful to the family and friends that invested their time, money, and other tangible donations to help us get the place up and running!

There are alot of things that set us apart! From being black-owned to having the ability to customize our shows to be as unique as our audience. I would say that the overall experience is what sets us apart! In the shows that take place in our venue, everyone that walks into the door is given a character! Our shows are great from team building! Guests should come ready to mix and mingle, you may even leave with new friends!

What were you like growing up?
I would say that I had a great imagination, and was ahead of my time. I say this because when I think back, I can literally recall sitting in front of my mirror pretending that I had a show talking directly to my audience which is basically the early stages of vlogging! I believe that growing up most people probably saw me a quiet, but those friends that got to know me knew my silly side which is probably who everyone is experiencing now in my shows!

I enjoyed reading so much so that I would read in the dark using only the glimmer of street light coming through my window.

I would write poetry and create/record songs on my computer. I guess nowadays I’m just basically doing everything I did as a child on a larger scale!
