Patrice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my hair journey as just a hobby in my childhood neighborhood, growing up playing with all my doll heads and then moving to my friend’s head in my momma’s kitchen.

Growing up, it never crossed my mind to be a professional hair stylist I just use to do it for fun. I started to attend school for becoming a lawyer. But the passion wasn’t there like it was for doing hair. So I postponed law school to finish hair school needless to I never went back, been in the hair industry for over 16 years and loving every minute of it, I am the proud owner of Hair Fetish Studio in Atlanta

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning any sort of small business in a struggling economy is difficult. But when your passion is beauty and hair care, why not follow it while being able to make a living doing something you love. Sure getting off the ground is a hassle, but once that initial investment goes through you’re off and running.

Above all else, beauty salons just like many other small businesses have to stay current and hip. Teach your stylist the latest in haircare design and product information and offer different services that will appeal to a variety of potential customers.
