Meet Pubby Longway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pubby Longway.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Pubby. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started becoming a social media influencer around 2012 -2013 when I graduated high school. I had no job. No ambition and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. So I found the app called “Vine,” which lets you express yourself in 6 seconds of video. I started making videos and skits, not knowing that I would lead me to be on world star and eventually blowing me up overnight. But after a while, I lost the love for making people laugh and went into my corner with still having no employment, not knowing what to do and getting sold unrealistic dreams. But after finally getting out of myself, I made a return to social media via Instagram 2017-2018, still providing the same comedy skits. Some people recognized me from the vine, and some were new followers. But my second time going viral was with my voiceovers, which I never thought would happen. June 6, 2019 to be exact is when I did the first voice-over for chef CZN Burak video that I found on Facebook like the first time going viral I gained thousands of followers overnight and felt like this was my second chance at making people laugh and maybe create a career or create opportunities I couldn’t create the first time. With the awesome people that support me along with family and friends and my manager Chad Horton always looking out for me, I would say I’m on the right path to doing what I love.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has NOT been a smooth road. Social media can have you thinking about yourself and how others view you. And being burden with real life issues as well, I suffered from some depression and thoughts of not being good enough, or will I ever get my mom that big house on the hill. You know, basic late teen early 20 human thoughts.

Please tell us about your work.
Well, I’m just known for being a funny guy overall. I specialize in being funny, I’m known for NOW my voiceovers, but if you have been following me from the beginning, I’m know as Pubby or LePubJames lol. I know a lot of people do voice-overs now, but I think what makes my videos stand out is my country accent. I also have a lot of people say that my voice is genuine. It doesn’t sound forced, and I’m always speaking positively in my videos even when the video is super easy to criticize I find positive in it.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Well, I wouldn’t have made my come back to social media without the help of my boy Elite Life KD, he’s mostly known for his Tom Cruise video that’s still viral today. He had way more followers on twitter and Instagram than me, so he would help me out with a retweet or repost without me even asking, so I’ll always appreciate him for that. Another person would my manager Chad Horton. I really didn’t like the idea of having a manager at first because when I had one before with vine nothing was going anywhere but Chad seemed genuine and wanted to help me because he never manage a social media influencer before and felt he had resources to do so and he did! He’s also the brother of Jerry Horton how plays for a famous rock band “Papa Roach” who also loves my videos. And lastly my day one friend like Terrance King from LifeATL, Teej Gridley Graphic Designer, Chris Green Pro Thrifter, Bryant Whitaker Upcoming artist, and David Luke Music Producer/Songwriter Etc.
