Meet Quiana Cloud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quiana Cloud.

Quiana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had the entrepreneurial bug and fell into the gifting suite industry about ten years ago. I created custom gift bags or “swag bags” and garnered nearly a quarter of a million dollars in complimentary product placement, advertising, and media coverage. The brand was featured in the ESPY’s, Trumpet Award and Grammy gifting suites along with Essence, Ebony magazine and more. A couple of years ago, I began designing a patent-pending design now known as the barazzo smart bag. I have several registered trademarks and I’m exploring options to partner with businesses and licensing opportunities.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Entrepreneurship can be a very lonely road at times. It’s a challenge to convince people to believe in you when you only have a vision. Not to mention, the financial obligations associated with building, growing, and scaling a business. It’s a lot easier to help build something that’s already off the ground. It takes someone with a whole lot of grit to build something from nothing.

Barazzo® makes bags into wearable technology (smart bags) and is the all-in-one everyday bag for work, the gym, a weekend getaway or just “mom-ing” from day-to-day. Built-in wireless charging. Multi-functionality. Key fob holder. Pockets inside, pockets outside! After surveying nearly 1,000 future beat testers, I confirmed that charging is the number one request, multi-functionality is second, and designs with endless pockets for organizing is a close third. Barazzo® has all three features and more. The highlight: creating a patent-pending design and owning several registered trademarks.

What were you like growing up?
I was the one always making or creating something. I was a kid serial entrepreneur! I opened a candy store in my parent’s garage and the next year, I decided to create hair bows and sell them door to door. I remember taking my bows and bags of candy to school to sell out of my bookbag. 🙂

I later attended Tri-Cities’ visual and performing arts high school with all the other great artists here in Atlanta. A BFA and MBA later, I’m still creating things.
