Meet Rondale Mitchell of Bosses Making Bosses in Lilburn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rondale Mitchell.

Rondale, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Bosses Making Bosses was created in 2015 by my partner Shannon (Beano) Draughn. BMB originally stood for Bossman Beano, which is his rap name. Later, BMB changed from Bossman Beano to Bosses Making Bosses. We created a logo (credit goes to FlybyNature) and eventually started wearing it on our clothes. It started picking up momentum and people would ask where they could purchase clothing. We decided to turn it into a full-blown business in 2018 and the rest is history.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been smooth. With anything new, there is a lot of things that you encounter, such as funding, people not believing in your dreams, haters that don’t want you to succeed etc. We have bootstrapped this business since the beginning. No funding, no investors. Just us grinding. I actually had somebody laugh in my face and tell me, “why is your logo an angry panda? Pandas are not angry!!!” What was so ironic about this situation, the person that said this to me had a sweater on with a bear wearing jeans and a hoodie!!! Go figure

Please tell us about Bosses Making Bosses.
Bosses Making Bosses is a brand that promotes entrepreneurship and ownership. The name speaks for itself. We believe that in order to be a real Boss, you have to motivate others and create Bosses. Our clothing line is geared to inspire and motivate individuals. We create pieces for any occasion. A night out on the town, a day in the gym or a business meeting. We want people to feel confident and proud when they wear our clothing. Our message separates us from a lot of other brands because we are not just a clothing line. Our beliefs are real and we put action behind that. We have entrepreneurship workshops. Vendor showcases for business owners to market themselves and many other events geared towards motivating ownership.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Absolutely nothing!!!!! Since Beano and I linked and decided to make this a business, it has inspired me to go harder. We feed off each other’s energy and we have the same vision for this business. Not everything is perfect so of course, it’s some things that we wish we had such as funding, but other than that, it’s been good.
