Today we’d like to introduce you to Shadavia aka ‘Golden’.

Shadavia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I remember being 14 or 15 and just being over my hair. It would grow but break off. I was also at the age where I didn’t have to sneak to wear makeup anymore so my mom bought me the essentials and I put them to use. Around this time, I was heavy into YouTube, so I entered the rabbit hole of black beauty gurus who wore their natural hair. I didn’t even know being natural was a thing before that rabbit hole discovery. So, with the combined hatred for my relaxed hair and the individuality in my spirit, I did the big chop! I wanted to spice up my look more so I ventured more into makeup and hair which eventually lead to me being asked constantly by my peers to do their makeup. I took those opportunities as doors into a career I didn’t even know was possible. Being a makeup artist and braider has been a journey I wouldn’t mind taking over in any lifetime.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to where I am today, surely, hasn’t been smooth. It has been a road riddled with many trials and tribulations. Since my introductory into hair and makeup, I have become a mother or two. I have fluctuated from city to city. I have had many break downs and changes of my mind about my career choice. I’ve been set back many times but it was worth it. The struggles and bumps in the road are not meant to hinder. They’re meant to drive you closer to your aspirations.

Golden Aura Glamour is a makeup and natural protective style hair braiding servicer. I provide faux locs, twists & box braids. I also provide makeup services. I am mostly known for my light glam makeup artistry. I am most proud of the team that I’ve been able to manifest as a makeup artist and being able to create beautiful visuals. From body paint to just skin, I can make it pop!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My near future endeavors include having a successful product line. I don’t like to speak too much into the future but whatever I plan will be big and it will make me a millionaire.
