Meet Shi’ra Gamble of Arihs in Southside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shi’ra Gamble.

Shi’ra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2017 with a BA in Marketing with an emphasis in Fashion Merchandising. So, I knew entrepreneurship was the route, but why not become a part of the fashion industry? What took the most time is figuring out who my target market was, what I wanted to sell, and a name that stood for something… as well as look good in bright lights in different locations across the country of course. October 2018, Arihs was born. The name of my company had finally hit me, hence it’s my name spelled backwards. I launched my website (that I created) in early 2019 and made over $1,000 during the first quarter. I couldn’t believe it! I’m saying this to say if you ever have a dream, don’t be afraid to chase it! It’s a learning process, but it’s my passion so I will never give up. I’m only getting better.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is like a roller coaster! It’s constantly obstacles to overcome and risks being taken. There have been times I’ve ordered products and they don’t fit as described, look different as pictured, or they just aren’t selling how I imagined. I’ve invested so much money into my company, and sometimes it takes what seems forever to make back. As your sales increase, everything starts to pay off in this business. Things have been smoother since I’ve bettered my marketing and promotions. As well as constantly releasing new merchandise.

Please tell us more about your brand, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Arihs is unisex apparel and accessories company. We provide a wide range of products from sunglasses, swimwear, two-piece sets, and even lighters. My best experience yet has been shipping internationally. Knowing people from all over the world have been exposed to Arihs is what makes me most proud. What sets us apart from others is that I’m creating what you can call “luxury streetwear.” Arihs is a clothing brand, not a boutique.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When I’m out and I spot someone in any of my pieces, it’s always rewarding for me.
