Meet Silvia Bimblich of Zivia Beachwear

Today we’d like to introduce you to Silvia Bimblich.

Silvia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1988. Moved to Atlanta, GA in 2011. Since I was a girl, enjoyed seeing my grandmother sewing with an old sewing machine. this inspired me to learn about sewing and take up the family’s tradition. As I was studying Civil Engineering in my country, I would sew swimsuits for friends as a hobby.

After graduating, I moved to the United States. A few years later of working as a Civil Engineer, I began to identify the need for a high-end, chic, yet wearable swimwear line.

In 2014, I set out to realize my dream as I soon discovered that fashion was my true calling. Zivia Beachwear was launched in August 2014 and since its launch, has achieved almost instant success. I strive to develop a high-quality piece that is comfortable for every woman. The combination of high-quality material and unique design produces a one-of-a-kind piece that merges art and fashion.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a very challenging and full of experiences road, I had everything inside my head and didn’t know how to express it. Coming from a different continent made it challenging to start over in terms of money, all the way to get to the quality of our product, I was just determined to achieve the quality I wanted and didn’t give up until I got the results I wanted. We’re still learning and improving!

Marketing was also challenging, getting the right team that was going to help me get the product out there if I could say so, marketing is not my biggest strength! Luckily, now I have an awesome team that helps express what is Zivia made out of

Please tell us about Zivia Beachwear.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My grandma used to make my clothes with her very old sewing machine so I used to spend hours next to her learning how to use It, She would tell me to handle the colors she wanted and I will always give her a different one, She didn’t like it at the beginning but we started mixing colors and got some interesting mix pieces!
