Meet Sophie Loghman of SunnyPeaches

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Loghman.

Sophie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was always doing crafts as a kid – and later on in life, I really gravitated towards journalism and marketing. I went to UGA for magazine writing and then University of Southern California for grad school for communications. When I was in LA, I started utilizing my Instagram and photography as a way to be creative and showcase my fun adventures on the West Coast. I think I was slowly heading towards a creative entrepreneur career, but it didn’t click that I could run my own creative business until later on when I moved back home to ATL!

My Instagram started as a hobby and really started taking off about two years ago. Even though I absolutely LOVE working as a content curator for brands on my personal social media, I’ve always wanted to do more which is why I founded SunnyPeaches in 2016. One day, I realized I wanted to be my own boss so I talked to fellow creatives, made a list of things I needed to do, and started building my website from scratch. Don’t get me wrong, even though my Instagram and photography started as a hobby, I was always hyperaware of putting out quality, consistent content that stuck to a strict aesthetic. That styled developed a strong brand for myself. A brand that sponsors and businesses could trust and a brand that people could recognize online.

Today, I’m working as a marketing strategist at a local digital marketing agency during the day – and managing my own business, SunnyPeaches, on nights and weekends. I’m very independent and very driven, so I knew that keeping my corporate job AND launching my own business would require me to handle a super long work schedule. It can most certainly overwhelming at times, but I absolutely love it!

Has it been a smooth road?
I’m going to be completely honest here – it wasn’t easy. It still isn’t easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. The pressure of balancing two jobs is hard. The pressure of consistently producing Instagram content is hard. Working with brands on tight deadlines is hard. Learning to write contracts is hard. It’s a one-man show over here at SunnyPeaches but luckily, I have a really great support system behind me. My boyfriend Michael helps me almost every single weekend and without him, I truly would not be able to balance it all. I’m still learning to balance everything but luckily, I really love what I do, so even when it feels like I am “working” a 7-day week, I’m having fun along the way.

One of the biggest struggles I’ve had is learning my self-worth. When you first launch a business, I think it’s a common misconception that the more work you have, the better. I learned very quickly that I rather have a few big projects than a bunch of smaller ones. When you’re being pulled in 1000 direction, it’s hard to really feel like you have the dedicated time and resources to create quality work – especially with influencer marketing where the work you produce on your social platform is a direct representation of you.

Another struggle (that I am still learning to deal with, to be completely honest) is balancing my work and social life. When I launched my business, I knew the workload was going to grow – and with that comes more time to devote to my clients. If I’m busy one weekend or traveling for a week, the work cannot be done. I’m learning to set boundaries for myself and understanding when my plate is overflowing – It’s definitely delicate balance!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with SunnyPeaches – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company is SunnyPeaches and I work with businesses to help boost their digital presence through content creation and visual storytelling. We all know it’s a social world we live in, so I want to help others boost their digital presence because it’s important that every brand’s social media platforms directly reflect who they are as a business.

I would say about 85% of my business comes directly from my personal Instagram, @sophlog. I work with a number of brands as a photo stylist to create content on my page to help market a specific product or campaign to my followers and online audience. On my page, I’m definitely known for producing colorful, vibrant, happy-go-luckily imagery. I’ve always stuck to a certain visual aesthetic and produced content that represented exactly who I am as a business and person. This dedication and awareness of putting out quality and consistent content that stuck to my personal (and strict!) aesthetic has allowed me to develop a strong brand for myself which has led to some amazing sponsorships and projects with amazing companies.

I’m most proud of the fact that my social media portrays me accurately and that I’ve been able to be “me” while getting paid to work with others on influencer campaigns to produce original, quality content. My clientele ranges in so many ways and I love being challenged visually by different projects – and always remaining true to my personal (and colorful!) aesthetic. Brand authenticity is SO important and because my personality is the forefront of everything I do, I always want to stay true to myself and my brand. And I believe this is what sets me apart from others. My goal is that if you can scroll on your Instagram and not read any captions or usernames, you’ll immediately know a specific image is from “@sophlog” because others are super aware of what content/colors/visuals/props/aesthetic is unique to only me.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I absolutely loveeeee Atlanta! I was born and raised here – but left for a short stint in Los Angeles a few years ago. It was during this time that Atlanta really started to develop into a major city filled with tons of personality, walkability, retail and character. I felt like when I moved back home in 2014, I came back to a new and more energized city. The art scene here is the best – and one of my favorite pastimes is taking photos of all our city’s colorful murals. Atlanta is a great city for fellow Instagrammers and content curators to explore. Oh, and the amazing dining scene we have here is truly incredible.

I also am traveling constantly so I really appreciate our airport here. It’s so nice to not ever have to do connecting flights to destinations and I know that our airport makes it a million times easier to travel all around.

@SophLog is definitely a name and brand that I know just by looking at a vibrant (mostly pink) photo. What a badass bossbabe!
