Meet Taryn Nicole of Bare Behavior Organics & TarynUpTheeIndustry in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taryn Nicole.

Taryn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Washington, DC and will have been in Atlanta for three years this December. I came to Atlanta not only for a change of scenery but because I have always wanted to relocate here. Once I got older and realized hair and makeup was my passion, I definitely knew Atlanta was the place for me since it’s one of the beauty capitals. I came here aspiring to further build my brands, network and build a celebrity clientele. Of course, things never go as planned and life has definitely handed me tons lemons since I’ve been here but I have made many pitchers of lemonade. 😉 Though I have had many lows here, I have had a great number of highs and overall, I am happy here, have met a lot of great people, made a lot of money and looking forward to what the ‘A’ has in store for me.

Has it been a smooth road?
Running a business is never a smooth road especially in the beginning. I have had my doubts, my scares, and a share of trials and tribulations amongst other things with all my businesses. I’ve had financial hardships, issues within my business, etc. but I made sure to keep on pushing through. I’ve had many businesses and stopped them when things got tough or when I felt like they weren’t moving the way I wanted them to but as I got older and wiser, I realized that I would not see progress if I don’t stick to the process. My hair business is the longest running and Bare Behavior is the first business that I created from the ground that will soon make its one year anniversary! Running a business all open your eyes to many things. I have lost sleep, money, friends, but I learned that it is apart of the journey and the test to see if I will continue to keep going forward. I know it’ll all be worth it!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Bare Behavior Organics is a skincare line created June 11 of 2018 after many attempts at finding a great product that works for my skin type. I was determined to figure out a natural remedy for moisturizing being as though I recently become one with wanting more of the less chemically filled product after becoming pescatarian/vegan and channeling my healthier side. Bare Behavior was simply a project until I have seen such great results and how awesome it worked for me. Our products contain only natural ingredients to promote healthy glowing skin and hair. We started out with body butter and hair/body oil have since expanded to men’s beard balm, and body scrubs all handmade fresh to order and will continue to expand in the near future.

Bare Behavior is extremely happy at the path we are on as a skin care line helping people become more aware of what they are using on their skin because it is just as important as what you put inside your body.

We set ourselves aside from other skin care brands not only because the products are all natural and handmade but we also give our customers the option to customize their body butter so that it conforms exactly to their skin type. We have an online site but we also do pop-up shops and an event that we can get our hands on.

Our motto is “Beautiful skin and hair requires and well-Behaved commitment… not a miracle!”

TarynUpTheeIndustry is my hair, makeup, the fashion side of things. I am all over the beauty industry, hence the name! I am a natural hairstylist full-time and a makeup artist as well when I am not working on Bare Behavior. I solely focus on braiding, locs and other natural styles when I am in the salon and I do makeup for all occasions. I always had a thing for hair and beauty because I watched my mom do it as a child so it’s pretty much embedded in me and been my passion ever since!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
As I said before, I came here to Atlanta to further my brand so I will definitely say it great for businesses like mine. I feel like if you have the hustle behind your work you can make it here let alone anywhere. As someone starting a business, as long as you know your research behind your business, know your target markets and the demand for your product or service, you will be just fine.
