Meet Thurayyah Pitts of T.A.P. Legend Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thurayyah Pitts.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I always loved music, ever since elementary, I’ve always played an instrument from keyboard to flute to trumpet to percussion. This was my life, my love, and my escape from the real world. I did this all the way through college, I have also always written poetry, so although I loved music and was (and still am) an exceptional writer I knew I did not want to be an artist. At this point, I decided to manage artists, which led to the birth of T.A.P. Legend Entertainment.

I created this company in 2007, and since then, I have added other services which led to the birth of me becoming a public figure RAYETHEPROMOADDICT. So I am Rayethepromoaddict (personality) and my company is T.A.P. Legend Entertainment. This has allowed me to work with and help artists, whether I am their manager or not. Rayethepromoaddict is a host, a club promoter, and writes biographies for artists and so much more. I have had the opportunity to work on professional video sets with artists such as Trina, Puff Daddy, Rick Ross, Fabulous, Buster Rhymes, and more. My next goal is to do radio so hopefully, you all will be hearing a lot more from me soon.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to greatness is NEVER a smooth road. But if it’s what you want, then it is very much worth it! Some of the struggles along the way have been investing time and money into the wrong artists, trying to balance personal life and music business at the same time, having to learn through trial and error and just wanting more than the people who hire me as I am passionate about what I do.

Please tell us about T.A.P. Legend Entertainment.
T.A.P. Legend Entertainment is a management company that I created back in 2007. Over time I decided to offer more services as I realized the industry was growing and more and more artists were wanting to remain independent. Offering additional services allowed me to be able to work with artists even they’re not signed to my management. So besides managing, I offer artists a number of other services such as creating one sheet, EPK’s, biographies, lyric videos, and more. I also am a club Promoter and a host and I’m looking to add radio personality to the list soon!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the fact that there are four seasons here, Art everywhere, opportunity is unlimited for those who want it. What I don’t like is the city is oversaturated with everyone trying to the same thing, and the fact that some people take advantage of the artists. It’s all about making money for a lot of people which reduces the love and quality of the industry.
