Meet Tim Caver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Caver.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for the arts and come from a long line of visual and musical artists. I started playing around with photography and photoshop in high school in hopes of having the coolest possible MySpace but never really took it seriously. Years later, I’m interning with a branding company doing graphic design work, and I realize how important photography is to the branding process; so, I decide to buy a camera. I learned to use it by practicing on my wife and dog and fell in love with portraiture. Ultimately, my goal is to start a branding agency, but right now, I’m enjoying my photography journey!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has definitely been smooth for me, I’ve been having a ton of fun and trying to learn from each of my mistakes. One of my biggest pitfalls was comparing myself and my progress to my peers, once I stopped comparing I was able to enjoy the learning process so much more!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I operate a one person photography company that specializes in creative portraiture. I also shoot traditional headshots and events, but my Instagram feed is strictly creative portraits, which is my favorite style is photography. I’d say my editing style is what sets me apart from others. I like to think of it as moody yet vibrant.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Atlanta is the perfect place for creatives, especially in the visual art space. The need for content is fueling this business and I love being in a city that is ever-expanding and reaching new heights. The photography community here is amazing, too, and I’ve been welcomed with open arms. For someone starting out, my advice would be to have fun, seriously. Art is subjective, and there’s no wrong way to create. Also, don’t let any project or any client take your passion or the fun out of creating.
