Meet Tyler Mtalo-Boles of Ménage Appliances

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Mtalo-Boles.

Hi Tyler, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Tyler Mtalo-Boles (aka Tyler Boles), I am currently a 21-year-old college student in my 3rd year at Georgia State University. I was both born and raised in the city of Atlanta and I have lived all around the metropolitan area. I became an entrepreneur at the age of 12 years old in 2017. With encouragement from my father who has been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember, I opened up an online store, using the platform Shopify, and started selling Womens’ Shapewear and Waist trainers. After not making any sales, I continued to open up different eCommerce businesses throughout my teenage years, but it wasn’t until I was 19 years old that I opened up my current, 5-figure business known as “Ménage Appliances”. At Ménage, we specialize in selling brand new Luxury Kitchen Appliances at competitive prices. We are an established, authorized dealer for major companies including Forno Appliances, Thor Kitchen, ZWilling & Henckels, Harvest Right, MRCool, and more!

I was able to get to where I am today through patience, humility, and courage. So much so that I now mentor people my age and much older on how to make money online. I am very grateful for the position I have been put in to make positive change in the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been far from smooth. I have owned and operated 5+ online businesses and it was not until the most recent one that I started seeing decent results. A major struggle that I talk to my mentees about all the time is self-motivation. It is EXTREMELY difficult to continue working on a business in its beginning stages because you are not seeing any returns on your investments (whether its your time or money). Starting a business is easy, especially in present time with the internet; however, maintaining a business is what separates success from failure. Working at something for months or even years without getting the results to justify it requires a certain kind of delusion that not everyone has.

The way to get past this issue is by regularly setting goals not just for the short-term, but for the long-term as well. Frequently dreaming big, envisioning your successful future, and manifesting can help you stay motivated enough to keep going even when you aren’t earning any money yet. I have been put in a position now where I earn a living from my dorm room before even graduating college, all because I decided to continue trying when most people would have quit.

We’ve been impressed with Ménage Appliances, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
