Today we’d like to introduce you to Wade Tillery.
Wade, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hampton University | 2012-2013. QT9, Music Recording Technology. Biggest impact was learning to be creative and having a love for my own people. United States Marine Corps | 2014-2019. Deployed to S. Korea, Australia, Okinawa. Trained in Parris Island, N.Carolina, California, and Washington D.C., Learned to lead strong-willed men and women. The biggest impact was understanding I wanted to live a Kaizen Life. Kaizen Life Financial | 2019-2020. Central office is located in Atlanta. My own funding company.
We support and serve entrepreneurs by funding their projects as well as startup and working capital. We’re able to deliver by having contracts with over 221 banks and private lenders and we lend based on seven pre-requisites. Seven Team Members and growing, we’re always looking for talent. Ethics are: be men/women of integrity, add value to peoples lives, and take action. My goal is to fund over 150 people this year and train my team members to become six-figure earners.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been anything but smooth, haha. But, it has been rewarding. Leaving the Marine Corps was bittersweet, but it was simply my time. I couldn’t pour my full time and energy into being an entrepreneur with the military, so a decision had to be made. But with the Marine Corps, I learned how to put people first and truly understand what it means to serve. I’m forever thankful. With my company, I have to consider every day a blessing. We have seven team members and are always looking for more amazing talent, especially social media or marketing talent, because this has been our largest stumbling block.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kaizen Life Financial – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Kaizen Life Financial is a veteran-owned and led funding company. We have working relationships and contracts with approximately two hundred and twenty-five small banks, credit unions, and private investors. Using seven qualification metrics, we enter any market serving clients in need of startup or working capital for their projects or small business.
Our company offers $10,000-$400,000 per transaction in as short as five business days. The terms of the capital are 3-5 years with no pre-payment penalty. The interest is based on the clients’ credit, with rates ranging from 6.5%-17%. There are no upfront costs or fees associated with our product, however, we do have one origination fee after receiving the capital. Lastly, the capital is 100% unsecured, meaning we do not take lien position in the case of the client owning real estate. Gap funding or down-payment assistance. If a client chooses to work with a hard money lender who is only satisfying 60-90% of the product’s loan to value, we will satisfy the remaining balance without the client needing to pay anything out of pocket. Everyone wins.
Our company’s ethics and culture. The ethics are (1) Be men/women of integrity, (2) Add value to other people’s lives, (3) Take action. Our culture is the philosophy of Kaizen. Kaizen comes from the Japanese, meaning “A change for the better.” In America, we translated it to “Continuous self-improvement and learning.” This is what we’re about. Not being perfect, but always striving and showing to be better. That attitude leads to greatness and its what we all achieve for working here. Greatness.
We have better terms than most of our competitors, which are primarily made up of hard money lenders. We travel a minimum of once a month on a corporate retreat to take care of our team members.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Most people plan to make x amount of money in their future. My plans are to make multiple six-figure earners and million-dollar earners. My aggressive goals are to make four six-figure earners this year and one million-dollar earner by the end of the year.
