Hi Da’Reonate, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Da’Reonate I’m a 22-year-old male hair stylist located in Birmingham AL. My journey as a hairstylist started when I was in 7th grade but I’ve always wanted to do hair. Prior to that… as a young child I would always go to my aunt Revlon’s hair salon… which is where I learned all my basic skills as a cosmetologist.. but as years went by it became something that I wanted to do for a living. So after I graduated high school, I attended “Aveda Institute Birmingham” where I became a licensed cosmetologist.

After I finished cosmetology school this is where I where the real test began and I had to build clientele, after about two years of being out of school I’ve had many amazing opportunities to work with many celebrities/influencers such as Queen Leora, Kcarbon, former Dancing Dolls from hit tv show “Bring It !”, Alabama State Sensational Stingettes, Ms. Evelyn Braxton and many more to come. But I’ve decided to Relocate this fall to Atlanta Georgia to pursue my dreams as a celebrity hairstylist/hair influencer so I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it wasn’t easy because I was new to Birmingham. I had to rebuild what I already had all threw out covid.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in weaves, wigs, and natural hair. I’m known for my elegant polished hairstyles. I am most proud of being able to be a successful male hairstylist, being one of the best & only male hairstylists in Birmingham doing what I did at a young age.

What do you think about happiness?
Making people look pretty by enhancing their natural beauty with my God-given talent.
