Rising Stars: Meet King Cutler

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Cutler.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
First off, when I first got started with music, it was really me just killing time, I was in a messed up living situation borderline homeless making music on an iPhone. I had been posting some and it fell into the hands of some people I was working with and others I respected well enough for their opinions. They pushed me to keep making music and take it serious it probably took a little more time until I said you know what I don’t care what anyone else is saying this is what I’m going to do. Which led to The support outweighing the negative the people who laughed the people who question you still, but every huge step in your career converts one more supporter to your side.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Hell no, excuse my language, no matter what or who’s blueprint you follow *your* road will never be smooth. In the game in the business you’re going to go broke, you’re going to deal with life. This isn’t a fairytale it’s still life you still have to wake up and find a way to make money especially as an independent artist. You’re still going to deal with things like friends dying God bless the dead. You’re still going to deal with things like supporting the people you care about whether that be financially emotionally or physically, All while moving accordingly bc there are still people out here who hate your movement.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Again my Name is King Cutler, I make rap music & really that’s what people know me for. You know people see me out and now they ask about music bc they see me taking it serious. I proud of a lot of things from my music to deals outside of music to goals I’ve hit, but most importantly I’m proud of not selling out. In my opinion with everything we have done as a team or independently in our own lives whether the overhead cost got too much whether we doubted ourselves, we kept ownership we never quit. We never let anyone ever come in and destroy anything from the ground up vice versa not only am I proud of that, I personally feel like that sets us apart from anyone else.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My family and friends, I’ve lost money, I’ve lost motivation, I’ve lost in business deals and business ventures. At the end of all of that those things come back in a new shape or form when you’re a part of this life, things like this always return it’s what we breathe, it’s what we think of, it’s what our minds attract, But once you lose a family member or a friend, it’s tough when you know you’ll never see that person again.
