Today we’d like to introduce you to Akida Marcano.

Hi Akida, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started as a passion, in my childhood growing up I saw my mother and her sisters took a lot of pride in their household. When it comes to cleaning and decorating, my mother did an outstanding job so I learned from the best. As I got older, my passion got stronger. I started to build my clientele in my beautiful Island of Trinidad and Tobago. My first client was a lawyer by the name of Mrs. Singh that I meet in my travels and she started recommending me too her friends and colleagues and that started my journey as house envy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After relocating back to the United States, I had to start all over by rebuilding my clientele. My main focus at the point was pursuing my nursing license so I put House Envy on the back burner. Becoming with child, I had to focus more on my health than my passion. When the pandemic hit my sister Ama Noel and I decided to rebuild House Envy from the ground up in the state of New Jersey. Where our Business became a hit, By posting before and after pictures from my own home. My colleagues, friends and family started enquiring me to do jobs for them and also recommended me to other friends and colleagues. Now we are located in Georgia and we are back again trying to build some more clients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My job is the most giving job in the world, am a wife and full-time mom of two handsome boys Zion and Ziah. I specialize in taking care of my household and my family. Am known for my attire, the way I carry myself and the way I run my household. Am very sentimental when it comes to my family and special occasions. Am very proud of the parent I am today, a dedicated mom, a wife and a big sister, but most importantly one of the biggest role models in my boy’s life.

I put a lot of passion in everything that I do. My motto is do for others the same way you would like it to be done for you. When it comes to my personal and business life and very genuine and respectful. Am unique in so many ways that words can’t explain, am ready for Georgia and the world to see what I have to offer. When it comes to my business House Envy.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories would surely be Christmas season in Trinidad. My mom would start prepping the household with freshly new paints, you can smell the season approaching. By Christmas Eve, my mother Deann Blair would start her baking cakes, bread, hams, etc. On the morning of Christmas, our house was a brand new home with new furniture, new drapes and so much love. You can see how much work and effort my mother would put into her decorating skills. And those memories will live with me forever, that I practice the same things with my family.
