Rising Stars: Meet Luchina Danielle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luchina Danielle.

Luchina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Charleston, SC in the early 2000’s. It was there I began modeling as a hobby. After pursuing it professionally, I became a published model and graced the runways of fashion shows throughout the Southeast. From there, I began mentoring and developing aspiring models & talent.

After modeling for some time, it was a no-brainer to transition into acting. I began attending workshops, networking with other creatives and submitted to various castings. I’ve done commercials worked as an extra on various TV and film projects, music videos and several independent films.

In 2019 I launched a shoe line called DANILUCHI. When the opportunity presented itself, I thought why not? After designing shoes, I decided to create merchandise, which includes quality hoodies, T-shirts and accessories. I chose the powerful symbol of the phoenix as my brand’s logo. It symbolizes rebirth, renewal, immortality, healing and the eternal fire. This symbol is definitely a representation of me. I’m resilient, no matter what challenges come my way.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has definitely not been smooth. Life can be overwhelming at times. I’m a single parent that still works a full-time job, runs multiple businesses and pursuing an acting career. It can be challenging at times keeping it all together as well as taking care of my overall health. There were moments where I became discouraged and just drained. I no longer wanted pursue the things I was passionate about out of frustration. During those moments, I took breaks whenever necessary and practiced self-care.

The people I thought would be supportive of my goals and aspirations were not. People have tried to discourage me from pursuing my passions. I learned early on to tune out the negativity and keep pushing. You cannot allow others to hinder you from your dreams.

As I began to evolve as a person and creative, I realized everyone wasn’t going to understand or support me. I became my own support system and encouraged myself. I have nothing but gratitude for my true supporters.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In 2018, I became the Owner of Lucy Productions LLC, which specializes in model & talent consultations, runway coaching, fashion show production and more. I am most proud of the success stories of models & talent that I’ve worked with. Just knowing I was a small part of their success is such an honor. It really does me good to see them working in their passions and pursuing their careers in the industry.

I’m also proud to be part of The Carolina Classic Hair & Fashion Show. This is one of the largest fashion events I’ve coordinated to date along with an amazing team. This event brings together models, creatives and other artists from various genres of the beauty and fashion industry. It provides a platform for collaborations and individuals to share their various gifts and talents. It feels so good to see the end result of all your hard work.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to connect and motivate people.

What were you like growing up?
I was a shy child that grew up in a rural area called North, SC. I’m very much a country girl that fell in love with fashion at a young age. I can remember seeing my mom and other relatives wearing the latest trends and being dressed to the nines when going out. They took great pride in their appearance and that really stuck with me. My first fashion show was in elementary school and I still remember the outfits I modeled. As a child, I would drape fabric on my dolls and then hand sew my designs. During my teen years, all I could think about was fashion design and modeling. I began sketching, even designing my prom dress.
