Art & Life with Sincerely Vo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sincerely Vo.

Sincerely, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Originally from Cincinnati, OH I began my actual pursuit of a career in the music industry in 2015. I’ve always had “a thing” for music but never imagined I’d be where I am today. I got my official start when I recorded my first nine songs and released them as an EP titled “The LEAK” on my SoundCloud account. Within ten months I was sitting in the RCA Records in Manhattan. From that moment on, I knew I had what it took to make it as an artist/songwriter. In February 2018 I decided to take my talents to the dirty south and moved to Atlanta, GA. Since then I’ve been focusing on my craft, learning the business and networking heavily. So far, I’ve written for other independent artist and have worked w/ Grammy Award Nominated/Winning producers and developed genuine relationships w/ big wigs in the game. It’s only a matter of time now. My next EP is coming soon!

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Music is my therapy. I don’t really identify as a “rapper” or “singer” so when asked; I tell people I’m a songwriter or an artist instead. Why? I don’t like to box myself in when it comes to music genres or writing styles. I can pretty much write anything when the vibe is right. I truly believe that there is a formula to creating hit records and I want to be the proof of that. I want other independent artists to hear my story and know that it’s possible, not only to make it but to be the best. In order to be the best, you have to practice and perfect your craft, and that’s exactly what I plan to do. My message to the world is simple! Don’t be afraid to go through your process, embrace the struggle and KEEP WORKIN. Be intentional in all that you do and trust the potential that was planted inside of you by God/The universe. It’s all there for a reason – it’s up to you to define what that reason is.

What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
Absolutely! I believe that the new generation of artists has more responsibility now than artists ever had before simply because of social media and the internet. The ability to have instant access to millions of viewers at any given moment is a HUGE deal of responsibility in itself. The power of Influence is amazing, but right now the music is being used to influence both youth and adults to do what most would condemn as “the wrong things.” I think worldly issues affect my music by keeping me mentally unplugged. The more I see and hear nonsense being produced and promoted, I run further the opposite direction. I take my time. I’ve never been one to follow trends or ride waves, so when it comes to my art, I either try to do the opposite or take what everyone else is doing and make it my own. I enjoy some new artist and their art, but 90% of this new stuff is trash in my opinion.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My music can be found on all digital streaming platforms including SoundCloud, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and more. You can also follow me on Instagram @sincerely_vo to see more live action, in-studio footage and cool pics of me!
