Check out Ebone Parks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebone Parks.

Ebone, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
After graduating from college in 2016, I decided to move home to work as an assistant teacher until an opportunity came about in order for me to put my Communications Degree to use. That opportunity never came, so I made my own. I’m a teacher during the week and a content creator/makeup artist on the weekends. I began my makeup and YouTube journey about two years ago. I’m in the process of rebranding by creating an all in one content website where my makeup work, blogs, and YouTube videos will be featured all on site.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As a content creator through blogs and YouTube videos, my mission is to be as transparent and real as possible. I’ve spoken out about some of my personal experiences and issues as far as dealing with Post Graduate Depression and anxiety. Surprisingly I wasn’t the only one with these problems which allowed my work to reach a lot of people. I want my readers and viewers to know that in order to heal yourself, you have to speak up and be vocal about what you’re dealing with. Channel that energy into something you love and are passionate about because that’s when the best work is created; through pain, failures, and triumphs. Keep God first in everything you do. Your plans don’t compare to the ones God has for you so always remember to seek him when you are struggling with guidance on your journey.

My goal is for people to see that life doesn’t happen for you; it happens to you.

How can artists connect with other artists?
Don’t be afraid to meet new people and always believe in yourself. I was once scared to talk to other content creators because I was afraid that my work didn’t account to theirs. I had to gain confidence, so I wouldn’t put my work and craft down. Once I started talking to others, I became aware that some artists are in the same position that I’m in. Once you believe in yourself, you are able to grow and better who you are as a person.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be found on various social media platforms. People can support me by following me on YouTube or booking a makeup appointment for any occasion!
